I was really shocked when I read this but it's a truly great story..

"Paranormal Activity" has just surpassed "The Blair Witch Project" to become the most profitable movie ever.


The box office hit was made for less than $15,000 and as of Wednesday has grossed a whopping $65.1 million, TheWrap.com reported.

I hope it stays in theaters alittle longer cause i want to see it, but cant find anyone willing to go. LOL, i wont let my GF see it, and nor does she want too, because I know it will freak the crap out of her LOL.

the Blair Witch Project was the stupidest thing I ever tried to watch. I didn't watch it past a few minutes.

I kind of like BWP but not a big fan..

I just think it's hillarious that these people are pulling in HUGE box office numbers on a shoe-string budget..

I mean this movie was made for $15,000??!!

I'll bet Spielberg spent more than that on Coffee while filming his last movie..:razz:

I doubt it will outdo the profits and total earnings for Mel Gibsons 'Passion of the Christ'.

it may when you look at the cost to make it vs the cost to make the passion, but total grossing numbers I doubt it

That is true..yes.

However, i must say i have no idea how much it cost mel gibson to make that film LOL. Maybe he got all those extras in the film for free!

to be honest with you i have no idea, all i know is that its about some family that set up cameras to catch paranormal activity in their house. Kind of Documentary style, and that its Freaky as ****!

yea that seems to sum it up. I dont know, i def want to see it but I can see it either being scary as **** or just dumb. IMO

Why the screw Spielberg? Spielberg was involved in the distribution of this movie.

Movie profit numbers always depend on how you look at them. In this case they are using %'s to compare the cost of making it vs what it made. Its #1 that way. It won't even come close to all time numbers though in overall dollars.

Since someone brought up Passion (why I wonder) its #13 all time in domestic gross, #44 worldwide, and #56 domestically when you adjust for inflation. Titanic by the way is #1, #1, and #6 in those categories.
