Anyone listen to Joe Scarborough this morning? I usually turn the station off when he's on but he was talking about NJ so I figured I'd listen. He said that Democratic internal polls are showing Christie pulling away from Corzine, and Joe also said that Democrats he spoke to told him they expect a bloodbath on election day.

I hope so.
I'd love to see Corzine get absolutely whipped.
I lived in NJ most of my life, from age 13 til age 56 (I'm now 60 ).
I sincerely hope you get rid of Corzine.

"Bloodbath" is a little exaggerated but if NJ AND VA elect Republicans as Governor ( I think VA is a lock and NJ still could re-elect Corzine) it makes for interesting possibilities come Nov 2010.
For that reason alone the Dems will waff over Pelosi & Reids "Health Ins" bills. After all any politician worth their salt WILL NOT jeopardize getting re-elected!

The only reason I used the word bloodbath is because Joe said that's what the Democrats are saying.

It all hinges on the NJ race, dems won't take any kind of message from a defeat in Virginia.

We're trying. Interesting that Joe said the internals are showing Christie pulling away from Corzine.

In Virginia, the republicans have a very good chance of running the table with Governor, Lt. Gov and Attorney General. They should also pick up seats in the state legislature (General Assembly). But Virginia is a purple state and tends to vote the party out of power on off-year elections.

They (dems) are blaming Deeds for being an awful candidate and not fully embracing Obama. Or at least the White House is saying that. But I agree that NJ is the key, a Christie win would shock the dems.

Anyone catch that guy on Fox yesterday, I don't even know what show it was but it had Frank Ludtz on, after seeing ads detailing what kind of shape Jersey is in, it's debt level, high tax rate, unemployment etc. one young guy said he was voting for Corzine, "because he seems like he really wants to help people", good luck to us, we're going to need it.

Amazing huh? most likely this guy isn't paying the property taxes the rest of us are. NJ is becoming a state where only the rich or poor can live, the middle class are being driven out.

There was a thread on it last nite, with about 20 comments or so. Most of the people commenting couldn't believe where the audience came from.

My daughter lived in New Jersey for a while when she was waiting for a place in Rockland County to open up for her to move into. She hated NJ and could not wait to leave. I visited her and her apartment and small village seemed very nice, but she said that the NU government, taxes, and just everything you have to deal with to live in a state were terrible. About Christie -- I did notice something in NJ -- not to put anyone down for personal appearance, but the people I saw in NJ seemed to weigh more in general than people I've seen in other states. Maybe this bodes well for Christie in voter-identification as Corzine has been making thinly disguised comments about the "fat guy" running for gov. If Corzine and Obama are examples of what "skinny" people do in office, get me someone with a few extra pounds any day.

I'm curious, is southern Jersey pretty conservative? Say, around Cow Town, and that area? There's a lot of farms and open country, so I would think they would be less Liberal there.

I don't believe it will matter to the libs whoever wins/loses. They are so into their own personal agendas, nothing will get in their way...

Here's the map from the 2008 election, the blue areas are very densely populated:

No, one thing you can really count on, politicians don't want to lose their jobs, it might not matter to those sitting pretty in liberal districts but it sure will to those elsewhere.

WOW! I just got my ballot in the mail, and Christie is in the 1st column and Corzine in the 2nd, but I had to look really hard for Daggett's name, and he's way over in column 6, it's not easy finding his name at all.

Sorry folks for the following distraction, but Jack needs to read this:

New Direction for any war: Send Service Vets over 60!

I am over 60 and the Armed Forces thinks I'm too old to track down terrorists. You can't be older than 42 to join the military. They've got the whole thing ass-backwards. Instead of sending 18-year olds off to fight, they ought to take us old guys. You shouldn't be able to join a military unit until you're at least 35.

For starters: Researchers say 18-year-olds think about sex every 10 seconds.. Old guys only think about sex a couple of times a day, leaving us more than 28,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy.

Young guys haven't lived long enough to be cranky, and a cranky soldier is a dangerous soldier. 'My back hurts! I can't sleep, I'm tired and hungry' We are impatient and maybe letting us kill some ******* that desperately deserves it will make us feel better and shut us up for a while.

An 18-year-old doesn't even like to get up before 10 a.m. Old guys always get up early to pee so what the hell. Besides, like I said, 'I'm tired and can't sleep and since I'm already up, I may as well be up killing some fanatical SOB....
If captured we couldn't spill the beans because we'd forget where we put them. In fact, name, rank, and serial number would be a real stretch.

Boot camp would be easier for old guys. We're used to getting screamed and yelled at and we're used to soft food. We've also developed an appreciation for guns. We've been using them for years as an excuse to get out of the house, away from the screaming and yelling.

They could lighten up on the obstacle course however. I've been in combat and didn't see a single 20-foot wall with rope hanging over the side, nor did I ever do any pushups after completing basic training.

Actually, the running part is kind of a waste of energy, too. I've never seen anyone outrun a bullet.

An 18-year-old has the whole world ahead of him... He's still learning to shave, to start up a conversation with a pretty girl. He still hasn't figured out that a baseball cap has a brim to shade his eyes, not the back of his head.

These are all great reasons to keep our kids at home to learn a little more about life before sending them off into harm's way.

Let us old guys track down those dirty rotten coward terrorists. The last thing an enemy would want to see is a couple of million ****ed off old farts with attitudes and automatic weapons who know that their best years are already behind them.

***How about recruiting Women over 50 ....with PMS !!! You think Men have attitudes !!! Ohhhhhhhhhhhh my Lord!!! If nothing else, put them on border patrol....we will have it secured the first night!

If Dems lose a lot of state legislative seats in NJ and VA, plus both governorships go Republican, and Hoffman wins the NY-23 seat it will be a bloodbath for Democrats. I hope that's what happens, but I'm pessimistic.

What it will do is give Palin-ism more gravitas.

THAT is what the Dems have to be fearing the most right now.

Yes!! and I think Daggetts position was done with malice, on purpose and for the only reason to effect the votes for Him. He IS one of the "Big Three" running for Governor and should not have been 'buried' in the mix. This is just another reason I would NOT vote for either Corzine Or Christie. On my sample Ballot Corzine is in Col 1 Christie Col 2 and the rest is a mix....

I already talked to their people and they tried to have it changed.

I feel Daggett should have been in column 3 line 1 right after Christie. Dirty politics raises it ugly head again.

No, one thing you can really count on, politicians don't want to lose their jobs, it might not matter to those sitting pretty in liberal districts but it sure will to those elsewhere.

The vote on ObamaCare will tell the tale. Certainly, politicians don't want to lose and will do everything in their power to win...and I mean anything. The establishment liberals who live in safe districts want to rahm ObamaCare thru at any cost, even the loss of congressional and senate seats. The question becomes, will the representatives with uncertain electoral futures cave to heavy handed arm twisting? Will be interesting and fun to watch them squirm. This is a once in a lifetime chance for the libs to take over another area of our lives. They will not lie down and let this moment pass. They will sacrifice their young to achieve the higher goal.
