We are seeing fissures developing in both parties. The radicals in both parties are taking a hard line splitting their parties along idelogical differences that seem too wide to bridge.
The ultra liberals are taking a hard stance based on the assumption that it was they that brought the President to power, the rest of the democrats are seeing a shift in the moods of the people and want to take a centrist stance. The ultra right wing is causing the GOP to sub-divide with the middle wanting to find a middle of the road solution. What I am seeing is 3 ideological groups now - the ultra left, the middle ground, and the ultra right wing....basically 3 "parties" already...whether this is good or bad, we will know in 2010...whatever the outcome, things will not be the same again!

Good point but I think it's a bit academic. In the end the ultra left and right will go into the booth and pull the lever for their letter, thinking they can control and influence their choice later on.
It would be great to have a third party, I just don't see one in my lifetime.

This is the problem that I see unfolding...the middle gets hammered from the extremes of both sides of the fence - sort of like the cat on the wall - it eventually gets shot from both sides!!! Although voting is for 2 parties, there seems to be huge divides within both parties, with the representative making hay while the people fight amongst themselves...

A large problem is that the lazy sit on their asses doing nothing during the primaries, then cry like little weenies when parties choose a candidate they don't like.
Wah! They're not conservative enough...or Wah! They're not liberal enough...etc. etc.

Gotten conservatives to start pretending to care about Afghanistan, the defecit, and out of control spending again.

Hopefulle EVERYBODY will start thinking about these issues!!! About time a call was made about Afghanistan....we cant let them be there while Congress fights for its share of pork...make a call either way - either support them or get them the heck out of there! they dont deserve this
