I prefer the Land of Confusion myself. Ronald Reagan's likeness in that video reminds us all why he was such an utter failure as a President.

Well for climate it'd be for Hawaii.
For government/tax issues it'd be NH.

If only I could mix the two....

I love the 100+ degree weather here. It's dry enough. It's only bad in early spring or late summer when we get rain... Other than that, it's a dry 105 and love it!

It's not a state for me as much as a region. The Great Lakes "Up Country" between the MN Arrowhead, the UP and Northern Wisconsin down to Door County. That is some of the best country in the world.

Now if the governments of these three states would pull it out before their shoulders slide up their rears as well... I'd be ecstatic. Look at the county electoral maps and its dead blue in every urban area, indian reservation and along the Mississippi. Everyplace else is pretty solid red. What is it about libs and rivers or coasts?

Over time, I have come to appreciate the State of Delaware. Not only are there many wonderful things to see and do in the state itself; but, it is so strategically located so as to be able to get to New York or Washington easily and quickly.

Longwood Gardens (http://www.longwoodgardens.org/), for instance, is actually in Pennsylvania. But, it's just minutes away from Wilmington, Delaware. Eventually, we hope to move there after retirement. It may be small; but, it's got a LOT to offer.

Worst I ever dealt with was 2 weeks in 1995 where the ambient air temp was -25 to -45 and windchills down to -80. And this was near Green Bay! Air so cold it felt like cold liquid alcohol. I'll take 3 feet of snow in a blizzard any time.

At least we're not talking about the Lake Superior 1913 storm that wrecked the Maatafa. Look THAT bad boy up when you're talking killer weather, and the story of that shipwreck would be an awesome movie. Just incredible.

Actually, I chose the hill country. Austin just happens to be in it. I live/work in both Williamson county and Hays county, not Travis county.

Make no mistake about it, however. I consider Austin the best city in the state - It has the Capitol building, UT Longhorns, beautiful downtown, beautiful lakes, lots of live entertainment.....It's hard to beat. Just don't come hoping to ever see a local election won by a conservative.

Bosque County is almost as good.

Love Georgia, especially the Savannah area, but wouldn't move there. Their animal control laws are outrageous- but, I might be biased. They just recently lifted the ban on Sugar Gliders, but before that, had no problems destroying them. Being involved in rescue transportation, I probably saw 200 Gliders before they started allowing them in state. People would get them from Florida and bring them across state lines without realizing the laws.

We might move to the Parris Island, SC area when hubby retires. Short driving distance to Savannah and Hilton Head. Love the trees!
