What ever it is it will not be good.
2 pilots not hearing their radio is hard to believe.

This is spooky.
Wonder if we will ever get to the truth?

I'm almost sure of it. Have they admitted to it yet?

At this point, sleeping seems the most logical.
Their story that they were having a 'company discussion' doesn't make any sense at all.

That or they were having a stewardess sandwich, not sure it makes much difference.

If that had been a two-hour recorder, we would have been treated to several minutes of them sawing logs...
they were asleep.

That or they were having a stewardess sandwich, not sure it makes much difference.Sandwiches or not, why didn't any of the other crew notice something was amiss when they went past their scheduled landing time? Is there not any communication between the cockpit and the flight attendants?
I suppose the story will be that they were abducted by aliens and not returned to the plane until they were past their destination.
More and more I'm glad I do not fly any more.

You can put a 2 hour HD movie on a thumb drive. What's with a capacity of only 30 minutes on the black box recorder - keeping track of only audio and a bunch of settings?

I hope they gave the passengers extra Sky Miles.

Too bad the traffic controllers could not have activated a loud bell or buzzer in the kockpit.

Black boxes are analog recording devices not digital.

no doubt !
Or better yet, free roundtrip airline tickets to equal every minute they were delayed in arriving at their expected (normal) arrival time.

I am surprised passengers didn't get asked to pay more for the extra sky miles they already received.

I think one of the pilots was Brett Favre. Think about it. he's from Minnesota. He threw the ball 51 times for 334 yards, but for some reason he kept missing the endzone.
Ba dum dum...
Thank you!!! I'm here all week. Try the veal!!!

Cockpit cameras have been suggested before and strongly fought against.
For this very reason. They need their nap time.

There is a strong argument, based on anecdotal data and physiological studies, that a napping pilot is less dangerous than a tired pilot. However, both pilots are not supposed to nap at the same time...
This is only the second time I recall where the flight crew both napped (in this case, allegedly) and overshot the airport because they did not wake in time to begin their approach and land. The first was that crew that wound up way over the Pacific on a cross country flight to LA. Of course there may have been (probably) others, but I don't think this is a general problem that warrants severe measures that would affect all the legitimately napping pilots and cost the airlines (read: paying passengers) a lot of money.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Two Northwest Airlines pilots have told federal investigators that they were going over schedules using their laptop computers in violation of company policy while their plane overflew their Minneapolis destination by 150 miles, the National Transportation Safety Board said Monday.

Interesting?
Well, the log on their computers should verify that...
Better than to be caught napping I suppose.

Yeah, that just might save their positions, with some stiff punishment meted out they will likely fly again.
Napping admissions would have been the end.
The computers will be key.
