Your Founding Fathers said that democracy requires good, honest citizens to succeed. Today, America does not have it. Your system cannot work if they were right. No she isn't. She is the Head of State. Its a different thing. Canada is pretty much entirely independent. The Queen's power is ceremonial, just like it is in the UK and the rest of the Commonwealth.

Probably half of Canadians don't want the Queen either, but really she does nothing in reality. She actually is a decent person. Now her big-eared son is a different question. If he makes it to the throne.......does anyone down there own a guillotine they could lend?
And about printing money, you Americans are getting good at that. But where is that leading us? For all your preaching talk about socialism, you Americans are becoming de facto socialists due to the screwed up financial system. Your gov is involved more in your daily life than China, almost.
Don't get me wrong, Canada is screwed up too and were in pretty much the same boat morally. But our banks did'nt crumble or come crying for Bush/Obama $$, and were still paying for our homes. We still have to qualify for loans, not just show up. We don't get cash for clunkers, or stimulus kick backs.
One more thing, here in Alberta SUVs are not politically incorrect. Buy Alberta Oil , stop relying on the even more screwed up Middle East.
