the Rockwell blog has a couple of his bits linked, including the green pieces of paper with pictures of men with beards...http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/

RIP

He treated kids like people, not like small morons.

A genius with the off-the-cuff. A giant among T.V. icons. THE format for kid's programs before they even knew what they were. And a mensch.

Soupy deserves a place beside Carson, and Paar, and Berle, and all of the other pioneers of the medium.

Soupy was the master of the pie-in-the-face. Heaven just got funnier.

I always got Sales and Pinky Lee confused.
They were a lot alike.

I watched Soupy when I was a kid. Loved the slapstick, just like I loved the Stooges too, and all the other vaudeville-type acts. You've probably got to be 60 years old to appreciate the lack of entertainment that existed in the 50's and 60's. There will always be a market for physical comedy.

I think a recreated Three Stooges would be a hit.
What do you think?

The theme of multiple characters, all displaying various idiosyncrasies, and using physical humor is what the animated cartoon industry is making billions off of right now.

Cartoons? I thought you were talking about the WWF.

When Soupy was still Milton he served our nation in the US Navy. He might have been the first person to ever "pie" someone, but he made it an art form.

I think we should all pie someone today in honor of Soupy!

Someone is working on it but I forget who was gonna be in it.

RIP Soupy! He was a standard on a few shows back then.

Truly one of the greats. He's one of those celebrities you never hear anything bad about.

I used to watch his show on Channel 5 in NY when I was a kid. I recently bought the DVD of some of his B&W shows and the DVD of some of his color shows. They still hold up. If you're only going to buy one, get the B&W version, they're available at Amazon.

R.I.P.

Even so, I guarantee you've enjoyed a laugh because of him.
