I am not a Mod but I think it was because there was an article pasted into the OP with no commentary by the poster

These are DISCUSSION boards, not Drudge, and not Google news. One of the most oft violations is with cut and paste (which usually also entails copyright violations).
Use imported material (cut & paste) sparingly and only as support YOUR discussion of a topic. Do NOT import entire contents of a news article or blog entry.
An idea for guideline.... Your commentary / discussion should be at least equal to in word count than that of imported material. Each item / point mentioned in any material imported should be discussed in your commentary. IF you are not discussing that item... don't import it.
