Which display mode do you generally use when viewing the threads here.


Linear Mode
Hybrid Mode
Threaded Mode


I generally use linear and occasionally switch to the others to see if someone responded to an old post.

How do most of you view threads generally?

I just discovered I use the threaded mode.

Erm, I mean, the linear mode. When I checked to see, it kicked me to something else once I posted.

I use Linear Mode. I like to read it like I read a book...from beginning to end.

I try to read my threads the same way I process my reasoning

Of course, my wife would probably say that means "circular", but that wasn't an option.

Newest first... whatever mode that is. Oldest first works fine in brand new or short threads, but is ridiculous in heavily posted threads. If you go to a thread with many pages that you have not visited before it is very easy to go to "last page" and page back through to catch up.

Likewise. I often 'read' threads I participate in on a frequent basis. I may not always respond right away but I have read the material.

If I have read the first page... I see no reason to go back to it every time I visit the thread.

Occasionally I will use the "Display Mode" tab to temporarily employ a hybrid or threaded version if doing so sorts out the conversation when it is not clear on who or what a post is responding to.
