OK, there's been a lot of talk on seeds lately so, what's the beef? Heirloom Seeds vs corporate or genetically altered seeds? Just trying to get up to speed on the issue as I plan on putting in a garden next spring.

By the best seeds you can. The GM debate is BS. We have been altering crops for centuries.

Hype.

Alcoa just announced an unexpected rise in profits.

There are camps predicting doom and gloom for family farmers and even the back yard gardener from lawsuits by Monsanto in league with the Obama administration backed by the UN.

They will be throwing people in jail for not using their GA designer seeds.

Or for illegally setting aside seed seeds from patented seeds produced by Monsanto.

Then you have the other camps that believe in a total breakdown of society being imminent and are selling non-genetically altered seeds vaults with a large assortment that is guaranteed to produce enough food to keep you and your family alive and healthy enough to fight off the zombies.

Hello TinCan,

See if your friends have any leftover seed catalogs. If not; send for them. Most are free and it's never too early to start.

This article from Scientific American describes how seeds are now being saved in case of a doomsday disaster; natural or man-made. Interesting stuff.

Be well and happy garden planning.

One dude that actually deserved the Nobel Peace Prize & got it.

He lived in Dallas.

Wonder is I ever crossed paths with him when I lived and worked there and was totally clueless of his greatness...

He lived in Dallas.

Wonder is I ever crossed paths with him when I lived and worked there and was totally clueless of his greatness...A man who saved more lives than ALL despots & their wars have ever taken...

And he is not a household name.

Damn shame.
