Did anyone saw the movie Paranormal Activity? It's about a couple who moved in a starter house that may or may not have a demonic presence.

It have a Blair Witch Project buzz about it. It's out on limited release but will be open in more theaters this Friday. It had an interest campaign in which people who wants this film to play in their area can go to their website and push DEMAND IT. After a million hits, the film will be out into more theaters.

I'm hoping to see this film soon.

With Zombieland, The Stepfather, Saw VI, and Paranormal Activity, it could be an interesting Halloween for me. :)

There really hasn't been a decent paranormal film since Poltergeist.

I am thinking more like the Broncos being 5 and 0.

That is just plain strange.

Or the Bengals being 4 and 1, and one freak play away from being 5 and 0.

Paranormal Activity is without a doubt on of the scariest movies of ALL TIME!!! This movie will make you jump, duck, cringe, grab onto and jump into the arms of the person next to you!!

The Story is about a couple who are dealing with Paranormal Activity in their home. The Boyfriend buys
a HD camera and some sound equipment to document what happens the wierd unexplained Paranormal Activity takes place in their home.

There is no blood, no gore, just the Best Suspense / Horror film you will see this year!

I thought the film was real! The way this is shot it give you the impression that it was based on a true story. You decide for yourself if it is real or not!

Film Grade: A+

As I recall critics said much the same thing about "The Blair Witch" movie as well. I found Blair Witch to be lame and about as scary as an unopened bag of marshmallows.

I finally saw Paranormal Activity over the Halloween weekend (not on Halloween liked I originally planned), and it was a good and suspenseful film. The final moments of the film, especially the ending, gave me some chills.

The film builds up the suspense and the scares unlike most horror films where the scary moments occurred in the first few moments. Also, there were some humorous moments in the movie. I liked the way the camera works and shot in the movie.

Was it the scariest movie of all time? No. Was it a very good film? Yes.

I recommend everyone to see it, especially late at night.

I give it three stars out of five.

ENJOY!!!!!

Talk about overhyped. Boring and not scary.
1/4 stars.

I just saw this movie and I was so disappointed, and it got 85% on the tomato meter at rotten tomatoes.

They totally were building up suspense throughout the whole film, and until the ending it flopped.

Way over-hyped.

I second that emotion.

Saw it and was totally disappointed. Even the "suspense building" was disappointing. Light on. Light off. Noise. Chandelier swing.

I found the footprints in the flour a bit chilling but that was about it. NO surprise at the end, anyone who's seen 2.3 horror flicks knew what was coming. Scream. Silence. BIG SURPRISE!

The best thing about the movie was the marketing. They sure did a damn good job there!

I saw it last night and thought it was very good. I'm not someone who gets scared at movies as usually I end up laughing at the so called scary parts but this was probably the closest I've come to being creeped out at a movie in a long time. Every time they went to that night cam you were just waiting for something to happen and even when the something ended up being something small it was still creepy. I think part of it was the vulnerability of the two characters since they were sleeping and helpless at that time. I think the low budget also helped in that there was no music to go with it as that sometimes detracts from the suspense building.

My only real pet peeves with the movie are that I hated the way they said the name Michah as I've always heard it as MY-cah not MEE-cah. And I hated the macho PIS that Micah showed throughout the movie.

I agree with this.

Saw it at the theater, and about 50-60% of the movie is a video of them sleeping. So basically you're staring at the screen, your eyes darting all over the room looking for something supernatural to happen. Hey, that door moved! There, the bedsheet rippled! That light in the hall went on!

That kind of stuff is good if it's a small part of the movie and is building towards something. But it was the majority of this film, and the final payoff wasn't worth it.

Perhaps it would be a different experience on DVD, where if you miss something, you can go back and watch it again. But in the theater you had to really concentrate so you wouldn't miss anything.

see i thought the ending was the best part of the movie, i agree the majority was rather boring. However, i was drawing parrallels from the blair witch the whole time, right up until the end. I was thinking oh for **** sake dont tell me this bitch is gonna start screaming hes gonna grab the camera run after her and then its just gonna drop to the ground and end!!!

LOL, when the ending happened, the kids in front of me literally jumped out of their seat and were laying in the people behind them scared still. I was cracking up.

I can't believe how many people raved about how scary this movie is. I didn't find it to be at all. A lot of "horror" film makers can't seem to figure out the difference between startling people and genuinely scaring them. Anyone can make an audience jump in their seats by having something happen suddenly and with a loud noise. That's a cheap trick that way too many film makers rely on. How about coming up with something that is actually frightening?

Kudos to Paranormal Activity for actually trying to create a scary atmosphere and situation, but the execution was terrible. There were lots of startling moments, but not really any scary ones.

I was really enjoying it until they used some cheap gimmicks with a Oiuji board and ruined it.

It was almost realistic until then, then it just felt like an elaborate hoax.

I spent the last 30 minutes of the film sad that they came so close, only to blow it.

I've seen episodes of Ghost Hunters scarier than Paranormal Activity.

Most filmmakers show just how inept they are by trying too hard to scare people or adding a very violent gory scene or two for shock value.

Exactly. Eastern State Penn or St. Augustine's Lighthouse, both scarier than PA, and both places I really want to visit.

I want a good ole fashion horror flick. Exorcist, Omen, or The Shining. I even loved Rose Red, though not that scary, but more so than PA. Made me want the house more than anything!

Well, I watched this DVD last night, and I have to say it didn't live up to the hype. They gave away the scariest moment in the movie trailer - when he goes flying towards the camera. And that didn't even make me jump because I was expecting it. I was sitting there thinking, "this must be the place where he comes flying at the camera........yep......there he goes."

The alternate ending wasn't any better. More gruesome perhaps...but no scarier.

All in all.....I give it a thumbs down.

Some movies do not transfer well to the small screen and paranormal activity is one.

I saw it in the movie theater and while it was not drop dead scary it was disturbing to watch. I would also agree that this movie is strictly good for one viewing only. I do think that if you had seen the movie in the theaters your opinon would have been different.

But what I really liked about this movie is that it showed that you do not need big Hollywood names or a multi billion dollar budget to make a decent movie.

I watched this movie last weekend and it scared the hell out of me. I thought it was awesome.

But here's why. I vaguely remembered bits and pieces of the hype about this movie. I vaguely remembered the trailer I watched when it came out. I remember some girls at work talking about it when it came out in the theaters, but I never saw it. Had pretty much forgotten all about it.

Then, while renting another movie, I saw it was available so I got it. From the beginning of the movie, I was thinking this was real. I have no idea why I thought that. I don't know if I remembered the hype wrong, or if for some reason I "thought" I remembered hearing it was the actual footage of an actual incident. But for whatever reason, I had it in my head it was real and therefore my skepticism meter was off. I wasn't looking to tear it down while watching. I was totally into it and buying it hook, line and sinker.

In that mindset, that movie was freaking fantastic.

But then, after the ending, I grew skeptical. And I had to know more. So of course I start googling and find out it's not real. So then I felt like a moron and was mad I wasted my time on that freakin movie...

But honestly, while watching it, thinking it was real, it scared the hell out of me. :)) And I love that. Nothing cracks me up more than when something startles me. I love the feeling of fear.

The part that ruined it for me was after it was pretty much established that there was actually an entity who seemed evil present in the house the stupid boyfriend still went ahead and used the ouija board even after being firmly warned not to, now if the boyfriend was a skeptic and was poo pooing the whole thing and went on to mess with the ouija board as a goof I could buy it but not how they presented it.

I work in a building that's supposed to be haunted. I've been able to find real life explanations for most of the stuff that I've encountered, but I still haven't figured out how at 4AM the basement smells like someone's smoking a cigar.

I prefer movie's like "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Thing."

The whole thing struck me that way. It was too much of a mishmash of the evil spirit/demonic possession/Blair Witch genre for it to be scary.

That's it! It was Blair Witchesque.

Of course, I do have to admit...the first time I saw Blair Witch was at the drive-in...parked in the very back row...where there was some pretty deep woods back behind us...so that was kinda freaky.
