Any thoughts on alternative residences / retirement destinations?

I'm looking for a place where...

- There is no property tax
- English is widely spoken and understood
- The government is stable
- Permanent residence status is attainable
- Decent infrastructure (medical care, internet, roads).

Preferrably not a large city, as it's my opinion that places with less than 50,000 inhabitants provide the best quality of life these days...at least in America.

The Cayman Islands comes to mind, while I've visited Grand Cayman a couple of times I've never been to Cayman Brac or Little Cayman...

Costa Rica is a very popular retirement destination.

Very favorable tax structure, good climate, low cost of living.

I'll move there the day they seceed. As much as I love America, I do not like what I see coming.

Did you see this coming in 2001-2008 when we were weakening the dollar, instituting the Patriot Act and borrowing untold billions from China and elsewhere to "spread mockracy"?

International Living has write ups on all the retirement havens.
I bought a couple of their reports when I retired- good information.
Southern Ireland looked good to me. I couldn't talk the wife into it.

They're on the web.

Indeed I did. I've voted for the Constitution Party for the last two election cycles. Now, it's too late to work within the system.

OT but I wish I had started looking at other parties prior to 2006 like you did.

Utah ... with the exception of Salt Lake City. Check out Ogden and Provo.

Also Spokane, Washington.

Seriously, if you're that concerned about it why not go for full citizenship somewhere else instead of "permanent resident" status?
