Wait for the poll if it isnt up yet.
The thing is pretty self-explanatory.
The first and last responses amount to the same thing, but I just wonder if anyone will actually assert the last option.
Well anyone sane, that is, which leaves out a few people that post here regularly.

He should get the 45 he plea bargained for 30 years ago. It may not seem right now, but that's what the deal was then and current laws weren't in effect back then.
I think he should get an extra 45-90 days for skipping out though.

That would be a fantastic display of the judicial system flipping him the middle finger, and I wholly approve.

He should get more than that, skipping the country is a felony, not a misdemeanor.
Btw, 45 days was what he was going to get in the plea, not what he literally was sentenced to. As a result, to me, skpping town for 30 years, all bets are off.
If he wanted that deal, he should have shown up in court the first time.

He did show up the first time. It was when the judge renegaded on the deal and tried to impose his own sentence without consulting anyone else that Polanski skipped. Judicial misconduct is a mitigating factor that I consider as the reason for just 45-90 day extra for his skipping.

I vote jail.
Let him get anally raped for a few years.
Then I saw the last option and wish I had clicked on that....

He should be sent to San Quentin for as long as it takes for each inmate to do to him what he did to that little girl. Twice.
Then shot.

If anything i think he will probably be put in segregation. Because i watched a documentry on tv on prisons and it said that molestors are consided the lowest of the low in the prison population.

I voted 20 - 30 Years.
I'd change it to 45 days originally sentenced as long as his cell mate is in for having a Bill Engval moment.
I have no problem going back to prison.

Judicial misconduct is a mitigating factor that I consider as the reason for just 45-90 day extra for his skipping.Assuming the allegations are true than Roman deserves a very still sentence.
That being said I am convinced that his plea will be vacated and the case dismissed with the victim refuses to testify. The misconduct alleged by the judge was SEVERE!!! Fro a judge to accept a plea bargain and then later decide not to go along with it, the ONLY remedy for that judge is to allow Polanski to withdraw his plea. Since there was no People v Cruz waiver taken (allowing Judge to impose harsher sentence if Polanski fails to appear for sentencing), I believe the new Judge is bound by the terms of the original plea bargain.

I think he should get an extra 45-90 days for skipping out though. Wrong - he plea bargained for a NON jail sentence.
