Yesterday Sean joined the few talk hosts brave enough to discuss the Washington Times article on Safe Schools czar Kevin Jennings.

Mr. Jennings as a private school teacher advised a 15 yr. old student who confided sexual involvement with a grown man to use condoms and be proud of his attraction to the man.

As a teacher Jennings was required by law to report the situation to the authorities (he did not), not endorse and encourage it, as he did.

Jennings writes about this episode in his book "One teacher in 10" published back in 1994, apparently he boasts about his behavior as if it is main stream in the circles he is at home in. But didn't Alfred Kinsey, father of the sexual revolution start championing this attitude in the 1950s?

Is it just me or is anyone else bothered that Jennings while guest speaker at the Iowa GLSEN chapter meeting six years later in 2000 still tells this story, like he expects the listeners to approve? As if his behavior would be a career enhancement as opposed to condemned.

Admittedly Jennings is the founder of GLESN, Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network with chapters in schools nation wide. GLESN exists to promote sexual minority tolerance to school children, yet their leadership apparently accepts if not condones pedophilia.

Pedophiles increasingly appear to be just another oppressed sexual minority on the road to main stream acceptance. Do we want people who want such acceptance, in charge of teaching sexual minority tolerance in our schools? Do we want children taught pedophiles are a misunderstood, oppressed sexual minority to be accepted, embraced?

No wonder it has been so hard to get tougher laws dealing with Pedophiles adopted in so much of this country. No wonder so many are so tolerant of people like Roman Polanski.

Please do not turn your back on this, we all share responsibility for the world left to our heirs, at the end of our watch.

We know Polanski did what he did he confessed. What Jennings did should have him in jail but he isn't. Polanski is also most likely going to get off on judicial misconduct reasons. Live with it.

But.............

The U.S. has some of the toughest laws in the world concerning Pedophiles. Families are ripped apart because all someone has to do is accuse them of child misconduct. We have sex offender lists so large that it's impossible to keep track of all of them. How many innocent people have are sitting on those sex offender lists? Our society willingly jumps on the possibility that someone on death row might be wrongly imprisoned; yet once you are accused of being a pedophile guilty or not your branded for life.

Lets prosecute pedophiles to the fullest extent of the law and make sure that those accused are really pedophiles before passing judgement on them.

An adult with a fifteen-year-old isn't a pedophile. A fifteen-year-old isn't a child. It's still a crime in most states. And I'm not condoning it. But if you're going to throw out a word like that, at least know what you're talking about.

Google the Wasington Times article, a man picks up an under age school boy in a bus station bathroom and brings him home for sex. A teacher finds out, councils the boy to use condoms, encourages the behavior and feels good enough about what he has done to share the story in a book and to audiences apparently for years after.

A year after he publishes the book he founds GLSEN to promote tolerence for sexual minorities in schools, and is surrounded by enough kindred spirits he still feels good about telling this story, as it is apparently well received.

But more importantly what do you call men who pick up underage teens for sex? Pederasts? How about if they pick up 15 year old girls?

What about Adults who condone these youths going off with these strangers, recommend they try to practice safe sex and feel so enlightened they proudly retell the story for years?

What about the community who condone, not condemn such behavior, and help them feel enlightened?

I think the term is "Hebophilia"

Thank you for the heads up on hebophilia.
I still have a problem with the culture of activists who are supportive enough of his behavior that he would brag about it for years, and advance to such prominence doing so.
In encouraging this teen he did facilitate and endorse sex between and adult and minor, in this case a man and a boy. And the acceptance of others has encouraged him to recount this, expecting and receiving approval as opposed to condemnation for about 20 years.

Would a hebophile attracted to and sexually active with boys share the values of NAMBLA?
Would advocates of Man Boy Love share too many values of the North American Man Boy Love Association, to be influential in our schools?
Would a community of activists endorsing the values of Kevin Jennings's counseling of that teen boy, share too much in common with the values of NAMBLA to be influential in our schools?

Last night a liberal apologist named Degraff attempted to squash Sean's debate on the safe schools czar with the homophobia card. Degraff argued Jennings just made a youthful mistake, ignoring the fact he was proud enough of it to recount it in a book published 6 years later in 1994 and still using it as an endorsement 6 years later in 2000.
Days ago Jennings parses his apology as something he would do different, better now, but expresses no regret or remorse that he facilitated, encouraged adult minor sex, in this case man boy sex.
Kudos Hannity, Obenshain and Birdwell for your courage to stand by your values, to not be intimidated and speak for those of us who are concerned about the policies, and those shaping them, in our schools and the Department of Education.
We only have to look at the celebrities proudly endorsing leniency for Roman Polanski , apparently expecting to be admired and not condemned, to appreciate where we are going with leniency and apologies for ALL sexual behavior and minorities, no matter how deviant and perverted.
Jennings, Polanski, and their supporters have a large and established community of sympathizers, which is why we have so many judges and legislators who are and have been so lenient towards child molesters and other sexual predators for so long.
