Chicago police are hoping that someone will be able to identify the people shown on this video as they murdered a teen, honor roll student, as he walked home with his classmates.


Warning... the video is violent. It shows gang bangers attacking high school students with boards. The students were simply wanting home from school and were caught in the middle of a fight between two rival gangs.

That is not what Chicago has come to. That's what a subset of the residents of Chicago has come to. While gang violence (and all violence) needs to be stopped, it is also categorically unfair to say "This is what Chicago has come to." The average people of Chicago are not these disgusting criminals.

You are right that not all of Chicago like this. However their murder and violence rate if off the chart. It's not unfair to the people in Chicago however to say that this is what Chicago has come to. They voted in the thugs who run their city and their state. They accept politicians and police who apparently have not cleaned up the violence in their city.

How do poeple get to this point? My bet is that the young men who perpetrated this crime have mothers who were taking drugs before the birth of their children. Many children of drug addicted mothers are born with part of their humanity missing... they cannot feel empthy or many other normal human emotions that prevent them from committing crimes like this.

Four young men have been arrested for this crime. They are trying to identify 3 more of the people who attacked the victim.

I hope they get at least life if not the death penalty.

It is very sad how many damaged children are born into our society because of drugs. So many call drug usage a victimless crime. Yet thousands of babies a year are born addicted to drugs and/or having been exposed to drugs. A huge percentage of them have a form of brain damage that is not easy to detect but that manafests in violent behavior and are 'broken' people from the get go. It's traggic that these kids are very little change in life as they will most likely end in prison for most of their lives. And if not in prison, they just have very disfunctional lives.

It's only a gang if they're in a gang. If those kids were involved in a gang, it would most likely be the Black Disciples. Unfortunately, they are mostly wearing school uniforms (meant to keep gang colors from being flashed). ETA: The ones near the school, that is. I always thought of it as embarrassing. If you read Altgeld Garden's history, it mentions the idea of affordable housing for African American WWII vets. But because of it's location it's easy to see what the true intent was. Built between Chicago & Riverdale, separated by a river, a dump and railyards, it segregated them from normal society. BTW this is Chicago, Illinois, not Alabama. They had limited access to convenient stores, and other things any normal town would have. It is still pretty much like that today. Where are the marches? Jesse? Al?

I may have been misinterpreted in my earlier post about the google search. Such research is a "hat tip" to Obama for trying to make a difference there.
