View Full Version : What is happening in America?????

Have we all pondered why this nation looks like it's headed to hell in a handbasket?

Look at the news and all you see is bad news on what is going on in our nation and our world. It makes you just want to throw the TV out the window.

We all seek for answers. We all think we know what the problem is and what the solution is for those. Hundreds of ideas have been floated down the river and up the chain. What is going on here?

Of all the ideas I hear on TV and talk radio - even Hannity's show, I don't recall hearing one idea that I believe explains it ALL. This idea is not new because it's been around for thousands of years but you haven't heard about it because the news media and the schools have shoved it in the dumpster and told everyone it just doesn't belong anymore.

Ladies and Gents, the idea is: Could what is happening be a result of God's plan and not just happenstance or chance?

Before you write this off as a silly "Who believes this Bible stuff anyways", maybe we should look at what the Bible states and analyze it. You may be marvelled at just how accurate this several thousand year old book really is at explaining things. There are countless verses of scripture that talk about the future in the Bible that there is not enough time to cover them all in one post. It is just too immense a study to do it justice in a short Op-Ed piece.

I would just like to take one snippet of scripture that covers the Russian-Islamic invasion of Israel that the Bible indicates will happen in the future. I will exerpt some verses from Ezekiel 38 - 39 (New Living Translation - *) and we can digest them and put some pieces together.

Ezekiel 38: 1-6 states the players in this invasion of Israel. The identity of the actual nations is a large post in itself and can be more thoroughly examined by doing a Google search of those. My interpretation is that it will be led by Russia and comprised of various Islamic nations, including Iran.

Ezekiel 38: 7 - 9: 7 “Get ready; be prepared! Keep all the armies around you mobilized, and take command of them. 8 A long time from now you will be called into action. In the distant future you will swoop down on the land of Israel, which will be enjoying peace after recovering from war and after its people have returned from many lands to the mountains of Israel. 9 You and all your allies—a vast and awesome army—will roll down on them like a storm and cover the land like a cloud.

The above quote gives us a clue as to a time when this invasion will occur. Note the indicative phrase in these verses, In the distant future you will swoop down on the land of Israel, which will be enjoying peace after recovering from war and after its people have returned from many lands to the mountains of Israel. This could not have taken place before May 14, 1948 when Israel became a nation. Before that date, the Jews were scattered around the world with no homeland as such had been the situation for over 2,000 years. "Recovering from war" - World War II and the Holocaust and the Rebirth of Israel is what this phrase was indicating that this event would follow.

Ezekiel 38: 13 states (KJV), 13
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?
(NLV) 13 But Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish will ask, ‘Do you really think the armies you have gathered can rob them of silver and gold? Do you think you can drive away their livestock and seize their goods and carry off plunder?

What we see in the above verse is the reaction by various nations not involved with the invasion of Israel in nothing but a condemnation of this attack. Note that they don't intervene to assist Israel in what is her greatest peril of her existence. They just wag their fingers at Russia and the Islamic alliance and say "Bad people!" in a basic nutshell.

In the final verses of Ezekiel 38 - 39, we find out that God Himself solves the problem of this invasion. He destroys 5/6 of the invading armies and sends the remaining 1/6 back where they came from. Israel is preserved.

I want to talk about an obvious issue that these verses creates. The United States under the Presidency of Harry Truman who was the first leader to recognize Israel after she declared her status as a nation in May 14, 1948, has been the de facto main supplier of her security since that recognition. The above verses states no intervention is done by anyone on earth for Israel when she is attacked - this would also include the United States.

Four possibilities explain the lack of response by the United States:

1) The United States is not existent at the time of this attack.
2) The United States is willing but not able to respond and assist Israel in this time of attack.
3) The United States is able but unwilling to respond and assist Israel in this time of attack.
4) The United States is unable and unwilling to respond and assist Israel in this time of attack.

Which of the above four will be the actual state of the United States at this particular time is anyone's guess. The Bible does not mention the United States by name as Israel is the centerpiece of Biblical prophesy, not the United States.

Now, let's backtrack to the present shall we? Can we see the beginning of what could lead to the United States taking a spectator role in a major invasion of Israel? What we have now in the world scene is:

1) Russia trying to re-emerge as a world power. They have the man that wants to make it happen - Vladmir Putin, a former hardline Communist KGB, who likes it old school - For those of us alive to remember the pre-1990's USSR, that is what I am talking about old school.

2) Iran making threats to wipe Israel off the map. Since Iran is a player in the Ezekiel 38-39 invasion, it makes perfect sense to watch what she is saying and doing.

3) Islamic extremism - We all know these groups exist in various nations in the Middle East - some even in the regimes of the various nations in the Middle East. It is no secret they also share the goal of the extermination of Israel.

4) Anti-Semitism in the United States government - Since the days of Jimmy Carter, the policy of several administrations, including his, was to make Israel make peace by giving up land. Each time Israel gave up land, the violence continued and the continued solution offered was for Israel to give up more land. What does this have to do with what we are talking about?

The Bible states in Joel 3:2, 2 I will gather the armies of the world
into the valley of Jehoshaphat.[a (http://forums.hannity.com/#fen-NLT-22321a)]
There I will judge them
for harming my people, my special possession,
for scattering my people among the nations,
and for dividing up my land.

We see that God does not like the "Land for Peace" policies that are being pushed on Israel. Each administration that pursues this policy of "Land for Peace" only brings God's judgement on our nation.

Another quote: Genesis 12: 1-3, 1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. 2 I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. 3 I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”

The blessing of the United States is derived by her support of Israel. In fact, it is my opinion that the sole reason for the United States ever being founded (Remember, the United States victory over Great Britain during the Revolution can only be explained as miraculous) was to allow the state of Israel to be reborn in 1948.

Just imagine - Had it not been for the United States being in existence, Germany and Japan would not have been stopped and Israel would not be a nation. The simple fact that the United States was the absolutely first nation to acknowledge Israel as a nation in 1948 was no coincidence.

Shortly thereafter, the United States started down the road of tossing God out of society. In 1962, the Supreme Court tossed prayer out of school. In the 1960's, we had the sexual revolution. Since then, it has been a constant attack on anything that is Christian and Godly in our society in every aspect.

Interestingly enough, God has already made His statement on this in Psalms 9:17, 17 The wicked will go down to the grave.[a (http://forums.hannity.com/#fen-NLT-14014a)]
This is the fate of all the nations who ignore God.

In conclusion, could we ponder to think that the reason America is experiencing the problems that it is is because America has violated the principles that God has stated? Could it be that the result of America's violation of God's principles also cause her to be unable and/or unwilling to assist Israel later on when this particular invasion occurs?

This is just food for thought. God Bless you and God Bless America!
