I have a calendar that runs out on December 31. Maybe the apocalypse is nearer than anyone of us had thought?

Why are some people so obsessively fixated on our obliteration...???

I really don't get it.......

It's closer today that it was yesterday and will be that much closer tomorrow.

One thing about it, we're all gonna die.

"The Mayan Calendar does not necessarily predict the world will end on that day, as some think, but they did believe that the Sun, having reached the exact center of the galaxy,"

The sun does not pass through the 'exact center of the galaxy' at any point of its orbit.

"would receive and emit a powerful surge of light from this alignment and would reverse its polarity. "

:eh: What?

"This would cause a great cosmic event on Earth and result in the end of life as we know it."

Yeah, sure.

Sounds like some half made up quasi-technical mumbo-jumbo.

Did the Myans accpept Jeus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour?

If not, why do some of the religous look to them for prophesy?

It is the end of a 26,000 year cycle. The next cycle begins the next day.

One thing about it, we're all gonna die.

"Let's go on a picnic"
"Nah, it'll probably rain."

"Look, I bought a cake for your birthday!"
"Aaaw, I'll probably burn myself on the candles."

"Honey, we won the lottery!"
"Damn, now all the relations will be after us..."

This is what I've read also. More likely a chance for a great Mayan End-of-an-Age celebration, but ya still gots ta get back to work the next day.

Well the Mayan calendar proves this: at the heart of almost every Religion, weather it is one of the older more primitive polytheisms , to the modern Abrahamic religions is the promise of a violent, day of judgment, an apocalyptic fantasy meant to take us away from this current "veil of tears" with the promise of "another world" yet to come.

It's actually pretty fascinating when you think about it, weather its the dispensationalist belief in the "rapture" , the Jewish belief in the Mosiach's return, or the Muslim faith in the last days, every religion seems to eagerly anticipate the destruction of our current world.

Why do you say that? Jesus has always been because God has always been.

Maybe they didn't call him Jesus Christ.

Could it? Sure.

The Mayans brought us the "zero" in math. They knew more about the clockwork of God's universe than even modern day man does, it seems...but much was destroyed, burned, ruined. Too bad.

No, but you can get a calendar at---

Shipping and handling is kinda spendy. That is one big stinkin' calendar.

There are some that would say that if you didn't call him Jesus then it didn't count.

Uh, no. The Mayans used the zero but we they didn't bring it us. Europeans were using the zero before they explored the New World.

-------------------------
The scientific advances of the West would have been impossible had scientists continued to depend upon the Roman numerals and been deprived of the simplicity and flexibility of the decimal system and its main glory, the zero. Though the Arab numerals were originally a Hindu invention, it was the Arabs who turned them into a workable system; the earliest Arab zero on record dates from the year 873, whereas the earliest Hindu zero is dated 876. For the subsequent four hundred years, Europe laughed at a method that depended upon the use of zero, "a meaningless nothing."

The Mayans did have the art of "human sacrifices" down pretty good though...

Or at least so Mel Gibson would have us believe.

There were a lot of diabolical things that came out of the Mayan religion - human sacrifices, worship to many gods, etc.

Christians should not be focusing on the beliefs of the ancient Mayans, they should be focusing on their own scriptures. If Christ said "no one knows the day and hour", why do so many believe the ancient Mayans knew? Doesn't this go against what Christ said?

Why do so many people believe Tim LaHaye had it right with "Left Behind?"

You make a good point.

No it doesn't. The calendar just starts over after 2012. The mayans used a cyclical time system.

well let me rephrase that, the apocalyptic occupation surrounding the Mayan calendar seems to support my statement (not the calendar itself)

What's "Uh, no", mean?

"bring it to us"? Are you speaking "to us" as representing the USA--or "to us" as in mankind?

That's not an accident. The devil needs to make sure people of other religions stay deceived throughout the apocalypse.

Also, I think the evidence is getting much stronger that the Nephilim do exist and they are thought of as extraterrestrials in the modern world (as the author posted).
