I was watching Sean Hannity on Fox News and was initally SHOCKED by the lack of knowledge of the people have about US History. They couldn't list one reason about what caused the Great Depression and could barely describe their favorite president.
I got to thinking about this; it doesn't suprise me anymore. Here's why: Liberal SLANT in the classroom.
When I was in High School (I graduated last year- I'm only 18), I could tell which teachers were liberal and which were conservative because of the material they focused on in class.
The liberal teachers like to skip over major events like details inside of the Great Depression. The "Big Government" style of the Democratic Party hurt the economy; it FAILED.
The material that the liberal teachers like to teach is the Smoot-Hawley Tariff and FDR's New Deal. They don't teach Ronald Regan's style of "Reganomics" and "Government is not the solution to the problem, government is the problem". They forget to teach about FDR taking America off of the Gold standard. Let's just crank up the printing press and print out more money. What the hell is backing the money? A promise from the Government?
They don't teach about Nixon normalizing relations with China. They focus on how Obama's high tariffs on tires will help stimulate American Business. They skip major US Successes and focus on the Democratic stuff. They just need to GROW UP and get their heads out of their butts.
I had a liberal teacher who made our class debate Global Warming. I was ostricised from the class because I spoke what I believed. The instructor did not allow me to speak any further. I'm with Cheney on this one: We shouldn't be wasting so much money on Global Warming untill more evidence is provided. The instructor laughed at me. I respected his views I think a lot of people will be laughing IF we are in another ICE AGE. I'm still not convinced that GW exists.
What I'm trying to say is: the major reason why students aren't being taught US History like they should be is because of the LIBERAL SLANT in the classroom. I don't like it, I respect their views and I like to hear them.
