CBO: 500 billion in new taxes. Geeze, who you gonna believe?
those costs are partly offset by $215 billion in revenues from the excise tax on high-premium insurance plans and $59 billion in revenues from other sources. The net cost of the coverage expansions would be more than offset by other spending changes that CBO estimates would save $409 billion over the 10 years, and by other tax provisions that JCT and CBO estimate would increase federal revenues by $139 billion over the same period. (The $139 billion figure includes $134 billion in additional revenues estimated by JCT apart from the excise tax on high-premium insurance plans and $5 billion in additional revenues from certain Medicare and Medicaid provisions estimated by CBO.)

So let me get this straight - no new taxes and no reduction in coverage.
Did I miss the story about Obama finding the pot-o-gold at the end of the rainbow to pay for this?

There's no way they can impose this government takeover of the entire health care system without raising taxes - on everyone. Just the explosion of government growth if it passes will necessitate increased taxation.
I didn't like the venue Joe Wilson chose to call Obama a liar, but he was certainly right. He has repeatedly lied.
He is putting this nation in danger because he's afraid to send more troops and risking support from his far lefties for his healthcare push. Way to go Obama - put our troops in more danger because of your push to impose an intrusive government on us.

Obama just changed his definition of 'taxes' to keep from lying to himself.
Unfortunately, he must now argue with Webster's dictionary.

The dictionary is obviously racist. I expect to see it put on a white sheet and ride around the countryside.

Why is this even an issue? It's been so damnably obvious since the campaign when he said he wouldn't raise taxes, but anyone with a basic lick of common sense knows that you cannot insure 47 million (whatever) new people and not have it a) raise taxes and b) cut services.
Seriously this is beyond a bald face lie, it's also about people deluding themselves that there are free goods and services in this world.

When you receive a "free" service, someone else is providing that service. Not only are you intruding on their lives, but expecting them to provide the service without any compensation! But I ask these people that want "free" services, would they go out and work without receiving decent compensation? People need to wake up. Nothing is free, except the air we breathe and the government is coming up with a way to tax us for that too!

The dirty little secret there is once the universal health care is started, medicare will cease to exist. The old folks will be thrown in with the rest of us poor slobs and they will be at the END OF THE LINE!

Obama: No new taxes for Obamacare bill
Of course this is true.
And when new taxes are raised, they will say, "Yes, but they are NOT for Obamacare. They're for (fill in the blank.)"
Taxes (as all funding) are fungible. Taxes will be raised for (something else), and the money that was allocated for (something else) will be redirected for Obamacare.
And the Obama supporters juiced up on political laudenum will nod in uniform agreement. (With the media setting the metronomic nodding tempo.)
