The G20 Summit is about to begin in Pittsburgh, and it's the most disruptive event I've ever witnessed in this city.

Entire downtown companies are either closing for the week, having their employees work at suburban offices (as our company is), or even flying them to other cities to get away from the crazyness.

Everyone has been made aware to just stay away from downtown, but of course, the nutjobs have shown up to march in the streets. I'm getting the feeling the cops are anticipating kicking some ass.

I believe the G20 Summits attract more anarchists than all other events combined.

I'm not trying to be a smartass here, but I'll pray that things don't get out of hand there. I happen to like the city and would really hate to see anyone or anything hurt.

It's going to be a bloodbath. This isn't Miami or Seattle or New York, where they can get breathing room between the event and the protesters (and looked how well those turned out). The Secret Service cordon is only like two blocks square, and they've flown in cops from all over the Northeast to provide security.

I've been heckling out-of-town plainclothes cops for two days: "Hey, you're not fooling anyone buddy!" They don't know how to blend in.

I want to go and watch the protests and see people get their skulls cracked, but I'm worried I might get swept up in a mass arrest and I haven't spent the last eleven years keeping a clean criminal jacket to get pinched for something I don't even care about.

Pittsburgh has got to be the worst place to have this. You can't even have a parade in that town because of how it is laid out. The protests are going to be insane and crowd control will be an issue. It's not Seattle though, people and police won't take that kind of crap from the protesters.

Just throw an Iron City and a Permani Brothers corned beef at them and they'll shut the hell up.

This would also be a great chance to pick up some political bunnies too.

Maybe you could use some lumber, canvas and paint to make a fake Pittsburgh. Then the hoodlums will think it is the real Pittsburgh when it is the fake Pittsburgh.

It's gonna be really interesting! We have people coming to our site on Thursday and Friday so they can avoid being downtown. I work in Robinson Twp, so I've got to figure out my alternate route in tomorrow/Friday, as I can't rely on the parkway...though I understand the Allegheny County airport will be getting a large amount of traffic. I wish I could go and watch what happens, but of course, I have to work!
