HawkeyeLonewolf

Anyone listening to Beck now (10:00 hour)... he's playing the audio of a video being played in schools all over the country.

It's anti-Capitalism, with a sweet voiced woman talking about how corporations are evil and people are excluded, etc...

"Extraction" = "Natural Resource Exploitation" = "Trashing the Environment"

If you have the email newsletter, he will send the link..

This is AWFUL!

He's suppose to send the link in his email newsletter. If anybody gets this, please link it. I'd like to see this and prepare my kids for it. Also I may contact my school district.

From what little Beck played, it seems rather disturbing.

I haven't any idea yet how many schools it was shown in but it has been shown because a watchdog sent it to Glenn Beck for his attention after the watchdogs kid was exposed to it.
It may have been in science class. That where they paniced my son with algores global warming and we all will be frying and dead in ten years.

It was a Tides Foundation video by the way,no surprise it's Marxist propaganda coming from them.

And unless the students were handed rotten fruit to pelt the screen with it has no business in schools heh.

But this does dovetail nicely with the current story on Chavez indoctrinating Venezuela's children in their schools.

Lol, ours too, when parents called in droves to object to their kids having to watch Obama's speech they reassured them they absolutely wouldn't be showing it, then showed the vdeo like three days later.

When I was covering a Social Studies class I showed a film that gave a very positive explaination of capitalism.
I'll look the whole video later(Dr. appt) but all I saw was anti-pollution.

Funny!

She may have lost kids around the 13 minute mark when she blathered about planned obsolesence and desktop computers. She claims that each new year's model changes the CPU and the "shape" so that you cannot just replace the part.

LIE!

Maybe 10 years ago. But not now, provided your motherboard (most are) is not already maxed out (most are not). I bet a lot of computer savvy kids know this.

Go Beck's Children ... start threads! Be plentiful!!!!And along comes the EPA
And, notes the Journal's Ian Talley, the Obama administration is spending big to tell us what we should be doing on the energy issues:

"The administration aims to teach them—literally. The Environmental Protection Agency is focusing on real children. Partnering with the Parent Teacher Organization, the agency earlier this month launched a cross-country tour of 6,000 schools to teach students about climate change and energy efficiencyAnd just why is the EPA in the schools teaching anything? Teaching is not the EPA's job.

OK, so I just finished watching this tripe over my lunch break. A few observations:

1. I would love to see how this chick is living. Is she composting everything? Does she use her hand to wipe her ass? Oh wait.....she's just regurgitating an opinion piece without practicing what she preaches? Yeah, I thought so...

2. Nice thinly veiled attack on our military. Funny considering the military is one of the few remaining Constitutionally mandated things that we are funding these days.

3. It's the government's job to protect us? Really? :eh:

4. I wonder why she didn't mention all the tree planting that goes on to replenish what we cut down for human use. Could it be because that wouldn't help the Tide Foundations' agenda?

The bottom line for me is that this is a damaging piece of propaganda with a few facts mixed in with lots and lots of opinion. Not shocking really that our government-funded schools are showing this crap, but it's truly disturbing that so many kids are being exposed to such indoctrination.

About 15 minutes in, there is a correct segment about over-consumerism, but that doesn't make consumerism bad in and of itself.

Notice how she states that the U.S. has less than 4% of its original forest land left. Not sure where she got that figure, but she seems to be saying that the U.S. has used up pretty much all of its forest and only 4% is left. I remember reading somewhere that we have more forest land today than 100 years ago. I can't seem to find a link on that though.

Beck reported the watchdog group that sent it to him said it is being shown in 7,000 schools so far across the country.

Actually...

More than 7,000 schools, churches and others have ordered a DVD version, and hundreds of teachers have written Ms. Leonard to say they have assigned students to view it on the Web.

Schools, churches and others have ORDERED the DVD version. So we actually don't know how many schools ordered it or even used it for that matter.

Hundreds of teachers? There are 3.2 million public school teachers in this country

If I remember correctly, this first came to light last May.

I had heard part of this today on the radio program but just watched the tivo of his tv show.

The show tonight may have been his best yet IMHO and I can only hope this gains alot of traction.

One thing he said that is 100% correct.....while everyday Americans are out working and running their day to day lives, these people are meeting and laying ground work and have been for many, many years.

I am growing more sick and more tired of the treacherous, destructive Left every day.

Actually, if you threw away maybe two minutes of the video, it's a very good lecture on the blind, consumerist economy driving us and in many ways the planet into debt. The biggest thing I'd disagree with is the blame on the corporations rather than the government. The government serves to gain from the corporations, and the "fat cats" are a direct and intended consequence of its actions and market interventionism. If she would have devoted those 30 seconds into pointing that out, rather than erroneously simplifying it to blame big business, I think you'd have a very sound demonstration.

Gigantic corporations, limited competition, blind consumerism, and a population immersed in debt are not products of a free market. This isn't a critique on capitalism, it's a viable dissection of corporatism.

I'd also throw in that I'm not a fan of her over-dramatizing the toxins used to produce certain materials. Many, purely natural elements that we interact with daily are toxic as well.

Much ado....You were about to say "Much ado about nothing"? Stay away from our kids.

Lol i love the way they jump right into government then faux links to corporatism. Pretty dumb move imo, they shouldve AT LEAST saved that crap for last because theres a ton of stuff that should be learned like how those "big corporations" hire people and get their resources first.

To support of the “capitalism is bad” theory, Moore should show his movies for free.
