Honest question:
The guy is supposed to serve 35 years in prison and he's 21 years old now. So he'll be 56 years old when he gets out. I know things could change and he might get out before that, but lets just imagine he serves the entire 35 years.
What good is that going to do him? What good is that going to do us? He'll probly just end up screwing up again on purpose so he can get sent back.
There's gotta be a better way. I don't have the answer, but there has to be a better way.
It's probly going to cost tax payers more to keep him locked up than it would cost him if he had to make his own way.

I don't care what happens to him, I just don't want anyone to count as one of his victims. Don't care if he's rehabilitated or learns anything, I'd just like him to stop racking up criminal acitivies.
THAT is the reason to keep him off the street and pay for that to happen. It's not about what he does with his life beyond keeping him from being a predator.

But you can take comfort in the fact that the recitivism rate (for non-sexual offences) drops to near 0 for ex-cons over 45.
