The swine flu pandemic could kill millions and cause anarchy in the world's poorest nations unless £900m can be raised from rich countries to pay for vaccines and antiviral medicines, says a UN report leaked to the Observer.
The disclosure will provoke concerns that health officials will not be able to stem the growth of the worldwide H1N1 pandemic in developing countries. If the virus takes hold in the poorest nations, millions could die and the economies of fragile countries could be destroyed.
Health ministers around the globe were sent the warning on Thursday in a report on the costs of averting a humanitarian disaster in the next few months. It comes as officials inside the World Health Organisation, the UN's public health body, said they feared they would not be able to raise half that amount because of the global downturn.

Death rates from swine flu have been lower than death rates from the normal flu. Looks like the UN is just looking for yet another way to guilt some countries out of a trillion or so.

Wow, I guess that Socialized health care really does suck. Michael Moore praised Cuba's Socialized health care, and they are on the list of countries to worry about. Geez, what is next?

The UN is one big scam machine from the day of its inception here in San Francisco. My dad worked for the UN in the 1960s and the stories I remember hearing made United Way seem generous. The recipients were lucky to get 30% of the money raised worldwide.

Once we find one of those rich nations, maybe they'll help us pay off some of our enormous debt.

There's a couple of ways to take this. Most of these "third world" countries are seeking the downfall of the "rich west". I say why help them, so they can send their suicide attacks at the west?
Also the WHO and the UN is constantly droning on about population control and how this has such a dramatic affect on Global warming. Well.... here is their opportunity to practice population control and help global warming at the same time.
And all we have to do is nothing...... its a win for the UN and WHO and a win for the evil west.

Who is killing all the best Microbiologists in the world?
Those people to me would seem to be a powerful force to combat such Bio-threats
Concern Raised Over Suspicious Deaths Of 24 Bio-Scientists
OVER THE PAST SEVEN YEARS, more than two dozen of the world’s most esteemed microbiologists—all of whom were focused on combating bioterrorism—have died under questionable circumstances.
