Can you imagine anyone in charge of anything being so stupid as to invite a criminally insane killer on a field trip to a county fair? I think we need to put one more person in the insane asylum.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A criminally insane killer from eastern Washington is on the run after escaping during a field trip to the county fair that his mental hospital organized.
Why such a dangerous person was out in public was a question many, including Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire, were asking as authorities searched for Phillip Arnold Paul.

Authorities at Eastern State Hospital, where Paul is a patient, are being criticized for allowing him to visit the fair despite his violent criminal past and a history of trying to escape.

This man had managed to escape once before.

To make matters worse there was a petition filed a while back that would have allowed his release.

Isn't it ironic that the morons running the place will not listen to the staff members that actually work with the patients on a daily basis? The workers had been fighting this moronic policy which allows the criminally insane patients out on these little field trips.

I'm not a big one for law suits. But this is an instance the screams for not one but several very costly litigations to be filed. It might be the only thing that wakes up the idiots that manage this and other facilities in the state.

I hope they are able to catch him quick...long before he has a chance to murder yet another person and then claim that the voices in his head made him do it.

Sometimes, people like him just need to meet up with the right "good ol' boy" for the good of society, if you catch what I'm trying to state here.

You people are being incredibly insensitve.

That man is not 'crazy', he is 'rationally challenged'.

So please, stop using this discriminatory language that hurts the feelings of so many of our psycopaths.

Thank you.

I hope that people in the area are checking in on their neighbors.

This guy disappeared at a fair filled with people, to include families with chidlren. No one has reported seeing him since his disappearance.

I wonder if he got a ride out of the fair by threatening a person or family. He could be hiding out in someone's home.

It's more than rediculous for 11 care givers to take almost 40 criminally insane poeple to a fair... they expeced 1 care giver to keep an eye on 4 insane people? That's nuts.... um insane.... rediculously insane

We have the basic right to be stupid but there should be a penalty for stupidity that harms others.
