Congrats Red!!! I am going to be a first time auntie in December and I have already told everyone that "Auntie Amy will be buying baby the sports stuff".
Unfortunatly...my brother has decided that he does not want to know the gender of the kid until it comes out and his wife agrees. This has hindered Auntie Amy. If this blessed child is a boy then the orange and blue Tigers gear, red and white Red Wings gear, and maize and blue Michigan gear is what I will buy. However...I feel those colors will be a bit harsh for a little girl, so I will have to buy the pink stuff.
Condundrums all over the place!!!!

Nothing wrong with a girl wearing those type of clothes. Some have asked me isn't it to soon to get a cap not knowing the sex. I say not at all, girls wear baseball caps to. ;) It's not gender specific.
She recently got her first ultrasound. They say the precious heartbeat, still to soon to know the sex.
As for you I see nothing hindering you. While watching sporting events I often to girls wearing Tiger Orange and blue, Red Wing red and White and Michigan Maize and Blue. If it's a girl save the pink stuff for non sporting stuff.
I just love the hat I am getting the baby, can't wait to see it. It says it's good for ages infant to 18 months. Alyssa Milano has a girl line for baseball clothes, let me check to see if she has an infant line.

Here is the issue Red...when you have an infant....one with no hair...you can't tell the gender unless you look at the clothes. I see too many of my friends who dress their baby girl in a Tigers onesie...and people walk up and say "oh he's so cute...what's his name?"
It is my duty as the fashionable Auntie to make sure that if it is a girl, people know she is a girl :))

Woot!
I've never had any uncles (except by marriage), but as an uncle, I've pretty much just sent toys to the neices and nephews. My sister and brother would get clothes, diaper bags - you know: practical stuff - from people, so they would always appreciate the toys I would give.
I must say, though, that cap is a really cool idea.

In that case, the parent can say "excuse me, the baby is a girl"! :)):)):))
I get your point though, I still say that a Tiger onesie is gender neutral. :D

I sister has given me strict orders not to spoil her kid. We responded by saying that you don't always get what you want. :D

You know how I feel about girls wearing pink gear with the team logo on it, but even I have to admit that the pink outfit is adorable.

Truth be told I see this in a different light. Many of the pink woman's gear is just the same jersey or cap, but they change the colors. That Onesie is different. It has it's own design. It's not like they took the orange onesie and turned it pink.

Thought I'd bump this thread to let you all know what is going on. A couple of days ago she went in for a check up and they said that they now know the sex which surprised her as she is only 3 1/2 months along. At this point they are planning on calling him Alaric Gustaf.

Alaric Gustaf?
Yep, her hubbie is big into Vikings and stuff so they are going with Alaric and Gustaf was his Grandfather's name. Alaric will be his first name and Gustaf will be his middle name, but they are planning on calling him Gus.
