We have a war raging in the middle east. We have a national debt that is out of this world. We have a dollar nearing collapse. We have social programs that we can't pay for. We have taxes going through the roof...and the most important thing on the agenda of the United States government is health care?
Let's get the basics right before we start trying to branch out into a nanny state.
This is EXACTLY like the guy in front of you at the supermarket who is buying booze, cigarettes and junk food with food stamps/welfare, then getting into a Cadillac Escalade to go home. The government has no money. It's spending on credit. The creditor is China. Even if you are a far left nut about health care, wake the hell up. Now is not the time. People are playing the violin while Rome is burning.

They knew all of that before they elected the current Moron-in-Chief.

This is what the majority want.
Which comes closer to describing your own views? Given the serious economic problems facing the country (we cannot afford to take on health care reform right now) OR (it is more important than ever to take on health care reform now)?
It is more important than ever to take on health care reform now - 53%
We cannot afford to take on health care reform right now - 42%

No priority is the "Priority". The mindset is; there is opportunity in confusion as well as what TurboTax Geitner said earlier about a crisis. This admins's idea is to start fires all over the place and while the American people are stomping out 2; they are setting another 3. All to hide the actual intent and goals; and that is Socialism - government control of it all.
Rome is indeed burning and the fires were set by this modern Nero - only problem is; he can't play the fiddle.

It is amazing what you can imply with a poll that has NOTHING to do with obamacare.
Notice the public response is somewhat different when they are asked aboutt his fiasco of a proposal.
WASHINGTON – Public disapproval of President Barack Obama's handling of health care has leaped to 52 percent, according to Associated Press-GfK poll that underscores the country's glowering mood as the White House made a renewed pitch for an overhaul.
Just 42 percent approve of the president's work on the high-profile health issue. . . .
. . .Significantly, though, only about two in 10 say the health care system should be left as is, a positive sign for Obama. . . .

and
A plurality believes Obama’s health plan would worsen the quality of health care, a result that is virtually unchanged from last month’s NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. What’s more, only four in 10 approve of the president’s handling of the issue, which also is unchanged from July. . . .
And a majority — 54 percent — is more concerned that the government will go too far in reforming the nation’s health care system, while 41 percent is more worried that the reform will not do enough to lower costs and cover the uninsured. . . .
only 41 percent approve of his handling of health care. By comparison, 47 percent disapprove.
Moreover, just 36 percent believe that Obama’s efforts to reform the health system are a good idea, and only 24 percent think they will result in better quality of health care. . . .
