Congress just passed a bill, or measure, or what ever you want to call it. No it was not some kind of recovery act, or defense budget.
They voted 240-179 in disapproval of Joe Wilson's you lie remarks...
Rep, Wilson already apologized, Obama already accepted it, to his credit. Yet the house dems felt it was so horrible that they had to pass a measure of disapproval.
This is one of the biggest waste of times and tax payer money I have seen in a while. Pelosi needs to go, its been long over due.
Where were the dems disapproval measures? when they booed George Bush, or call him a liar on a daily basis. And clapped at inappropriate times to undermine him?
The double standard continues in DC.

Are there rules in the House that are supposed to be followed? Is it only fine to ignore authority if it's a R doing it? Would there have not been an outrage from the right if an D individual had done the same thing?
Has anyone actually went and looked at all the things the House votes on?

"Recognizing the significant contribution coaches make in the life of children who participate in organized sports and supporting the goals and ideals of National Coaches Appreciation Week."
"To designate the Federal building located at 844 North Rush Street in Chicago, Illinois, as the "William O. Lipinski Federal Building"
"To require the Secretary of the Treasury to mint coins in commemoration of the bicentennial of the writing of the Star-Spangled Banner, and for other purposes."
This is just so far this week and I only looked at the first 2 pages.

Can't really say that they actually wasted any money on this vote.
They would have gotten their pay whether or not they held this vote. (Or even held a session.) Ditto staff, pages, security guys, cafeteria workers, etc.
They got a phantom pound of flesh from Wislon. The media had their wet dream. Dems feel good about themselves.
And Wilson's support in his district grew as a result.
The majority of this nation that is opposed to Obama Care and who KNOW that illegals will still get their medical care, as usual, those for whom Wilson spoke, are saying thanks to him.

Maybe in the time they wasted on this, they could have read a couple of pages of the healthcare plan?

Nice! :)
Of course, they likely know that healthcare is dead. At least the current 1000-page bill that's on the table. No sense wasting time on that one.

Congress's way of spanking people... apparently .
This wouldn't even be an issue if the dems didn't keep whining about it. But that is what they do best.

We know the congress waste money and time, but passing a disapproval, to try an demonize joe wilson, who already apologized, is just plain stupid.
Where was the measure of disapproval for the dems who booed GWB durring his speeches, and clapped while we was talking?

Joe Wilson's war..
Congress was wasting money, because instead of passing something useful, they wasted time debating, making paperwork. Time is money.
The dems are just outraged that their savior got dissed in his speech, and want revenge. Next they are going to try to expel him.

Joe was in the wrong in that forum and was right to apologize, not for what he said, but for speaking out of turn. They could have chosen to be gracious, but they didn't. He and everyone else were censured before the vote. What he did served to harden the hearts of many people in the direction they previously held, which becomes a dividing wedge instead of opening doors. Both he and President Obama were wise in the way they handled the situation. The vote represents honor for the position of the speaker or grace for Joe as far as I am concerned. I feel that anything more than that would be speculation on my part.

It is simple. This isn't Burger King. You can't have it your way. There are rules in place when the President is speaking during a joint session of Congress. I would expect cons to do the same thing had a Democrat did it to a Republican President.

"passing something useful" Like what....a motion to recess?
I guess them doing nothing would be more useful, than passing spanking bills.

Yes holding the rank ameteur wanna be president Obama accountable for telling lie after lie after lie will not be tolerated by the dems.
The fool dems can go ahead and discipline Joe, what's the hold up? Get on with it already. It's not going to change the fact that the GOP rallying cry in 2010 and 2012 is now YOU LIE! :)):)):))
