View Full Version : Let me see if I understand the logic of the left's cry of racism from the right......

So apparently the thought never came into some of these people's minds that maybe Joe Wilson said, "You Lie!" because maybe Obama lies?

Following the left's logic, everyone on the right would be TOTALLY cool with Cap & Trade, government-run healthcare, ACORN, taxes, lack of verification for ID for heatlhcare, etc. if President Obama were white?

Is that the logic you guys are aiming for?

That we would gladly support everything Obama does if he were just white?

Explain that to me.

Simple really..

Racism = the NEW Macarthyism.

Racism = the NEW Macarthyism.

It's insane logic.

So I would support everything Obama does if he were just white?

That makes no sense whatsoever.

:)) At least give Boortz credit for much of your above statement........
What you presented above is almost like a Cliff notes version of Boort's rant after the 11 EST hour. If you thought this up by yourself, I'd say that you and Boortz are like psychically connected........ :)

I agree. The left hasn't really thought this whole racism claim through. In the end, they look the fool........ but thats nothing new either.

Well you know those conservatives, they were always supportive of every white democrat President and his agenda, now that it's a black man they go all stubborn on us, tsk tsk.

LOL...I was going to give credit to Boortz but I was curious if anyone else was paying attention to what he said.

Excellent point he made there.

So people on the right aren't accusing people on the left for being racists? What was it that Beck said about President Obama? Didn't he call him racist? Didn't people on the right constantly play Rev. Wright's selected excerpts day after day, week after week, month after month, and call him a racist? Etc. Etc.
So now the same folks want to cry when one of their own are called a racist? What a joke!!! :))

Exactly.

Yup, Republicans supported EVERYTHING Clinton because he was white did but don't support Obama because he's black.

Some of these people on the left need to go back to high school all over again.

I don't know why everyone is so outraged over these charges of racism. They've been coming from the left for as long as I've been following politics. (about 1983 as I recall.)

It's SOP for them. Disagree with the a black politician or his agenda, you're a racist. Diagree with affirmitive action, you're a racist. Propose cuts in welfare, you're a racist.

Much like, disagree with amnesty, you're a racist. Disagree with gay marriage, you're a homophobe. Disagree with the unions, you're a greedy capitalist pig. Propose Social Security reform, you want old people to starve. Disagree with any particular group or one of its members, you're some kind of evil fascist that wants to choke puppies and force old people to eat dog food.

It's what they do people. It's what they've done for what seems like forever.

Yeah, let's compare shall we?

Joe Wilson "You lie"

Rev Wright "“Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people."

Are you seriously going to sit there and say Rev. Wright is not a racist?

And News Flash PO, Glenn Beck is not "the right." He's one man. So spare me your laughter and try addressing the actual question being asked in the OP.

You realize it's a small minority who think Wilson is a racist for his comments, and those that do are idiots and in my opinion most people ont he left understand that. Please stop trying to portray the left by the actions of a few.

Not buying it, I see the accusation everywhere from the left, on blogs, newspaper comments sections, youtube comments, MSNBC, CNN, heck my wifes' Aunt called me a racist simply because I said I wasn't voting for him.

LOL, cool. I'm glad you took it as a good natured rib from me just trying to bust your horns a little. Yeah, he had some good points, but I think that he exaggerated a little bit. Most of the people I know who are hard core Obama supporters, aren't always "crying racism" if someone disagrees with his policies. That said, have they claimed that certain things people say about Obama are racist? Yes. Speaking for myself, I don't think that if someone disagrees with President Obama's policies that they are racists. I disagree with some of his policies and have no problem saying it.

I certainly don't want it to be painted that I'm saying all Obama supporters or those on the left are crying racism...seems really a select few are. Problem is, some of those select few are people in powerful positions or public jobs where their voices are heard or they have a platform to let themselves be heard.

As far as Rev. Wright, he's one man also. Has he said some "racist" things yes, did he council and advocate a white man and a black woman who was part of his church to get married? Yes.
Yes, I know that Glenn Beck is not "the right", but don't many people on "the right" seem to gravitate towards him and like his POV and agree with him? Did those same people on "the Right" condemn or agree with Beck's assertion about President Obama being a "racist"?

It's just a lack of understanding. Probably by some who don't like it and some who post it up on their vehicles or wherever.

The confederate flag has no representation of racism. It's just affiliated with a time and a place, often for wrong reasons.

The confederate flag was flown over the time of slavery....but so was the US flag.

And there's the Strom Thurmond connection with Wilson.

Another thing is Bob Jones University. Looking at maps, it's not in the 2nd SC district, but it's darn close. Up until the year 2000 they had the blatantly racist policy of banning inter-racial dating. How they defined who was in what race, I have no idea. Does that mean someone of Nordic decent can't date someone of Greek decent, for example? Or is it a skin tone thing?

I couldn't find anything associating Wilson with the University, but it's been a standard speaking spot for GOP politicians for years. (And probably many southern Dems like Thurmond before the Dems supported the civil rights act & they all jumped to the GOP.

Liberal reasoning, if it can be called that, is this: "Obama is black, Conservatives oppose Obama, therefore they must be doing it because he is black."

As a liberal I can say I do not think Joe Wilson is a racist, nor was his outburst.
I'd describe him more as rude, uncivil and impolite.

This is funny.

I took this argument and puffed it up a bit and posted on a liberal board where I was being accused of being a racist for weeks only for being a Conservative that I concede we are all racists on the Right, because history proves we will ALWAYS get behind a Democrat President if he's white, and that yes, we are all racists.

So, the fallout is hysterical! Now they are scrambling to say not ALL Conservatives are racist. Just me. :D

Sometimes when you give them what they want, they don't know what to do.

Kelzan
September 16th, 2009, 11:44 pm
Ask the Dems if they would support a black Conservative President, and if they say no, ask them if that makes them racists.
