I heard that by 2010 they may close down all the stores b/c they are loosing out to netflix and doorbuster(whatever it is). I am actually surprised they haven't gone bankrupt. I am really surprised that ppl still go to blockbuster when there is pay per view and netflix.

I went a few weeks ago. It was the first time I had seen The Sandlot or Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
Sad thing is, I'm 20.

Not Blockbuster, no. Haven't ever been there. I go to Hastings instead. They have books, movies, and music all in the same place and at cheaper prices than Blockbuster. The only thing that Hastings is lacking is Bollywood movies. I still have to order those online. :(

We still go to Blockbuster... we rent so few movies it seems silly to sign up for Netflix. But If I ever buy a HDTV and install a sound system to go with it, I will most likely switch.

I haven't rented a movie in a couple years.
Nearest chain video rental place to me is 45 miles.
I have a card with the local mom & pop shop but again it has been at least two years since I was there.
I still have personal issues with NetFlix and refuse to patronize them.
I am not that into movies anymore like I used to be when my wife and I were still together.
I had the premium movie channels on my Direct TV service but dumped them because I never really watched them that much.

There's a small business near me called "Oasis Video." ((No, it's not an adult store.))
They have signs out front about "Rent 1 get 11 free." I mean, at some point, they just gotta give up.

Blockbuster has a netflix like service, but in the stores, that allows people to have three movies rented at a time. My folks have done this for awhile, and they get new movies as often as they go to blockbuster. Basically, it's like netflix, with a lower selection, but with the convenience of being able to pick up the movies at the store. When my kids visit my folks, they would get three DVDs every day from blockbuster.

We use blockbuster online, which is the same as netflix. You can get the movies in the mail and then return them to the store or mail them back when you are done. Part of the plan is that we get 5 (i think?) free rentals in the store every month, and we usually drop of the ones they mailed us since returning the movies to the store means that you get the next batch sent to you faster. We usually take a walk around looking for the things in our queue in case they have it, just to save the time it 6takes for them to ship it to us.
