"Early Show" host Harry Smith has taken a sick day from work, telling viewers he thinks he may have swine flu.
In an interview live from his New York City apartment Monday, Smith told CBS viewers he started feeling achy and feverish over the weekend after a 25-mile bike ride in the rain and dancing all night at a birthday party.
"Early Show" medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton said Smith could be right because his symptoms are associated with swine flu. She praised him for staying home and out of circulation.
And his "symptoms" can be associated with things other than the swine flu.
Think the bike ride in the rain/dancing all night MIGHT have something to do with it.
Ratings must really suck.....

What better way to promote fear of the H1N1 flu than to have him sneeze all about it.

Riding a bike in the rain doesn't give you swine flu. Neither does dancing all night.
He should have just said, I was at a party where I must've been in contact with someone who was infected.

what total BS!
he had a hangover and was tired for going on that ridiculous bike ride.
he's just fullfilling his liberal duty of spreading the fear for his messiah.

Exactly right, they don't.
Maybe Obama should make Smith the "swine flu" czar since he's so adept at self-diagnosis.

He didn't listen to Obama. Obama said to cough into your sleeve and wash your hands. Not to wash your sleeve and cough on your hands.

Please stop calling it 'Swine" flu, it's an insult to pork producers and . . . the pigs.

The Swine Flu is flu. Most people don't die from the flu.

That's gonna come as a surprise to the roughly 36,000 Americans who die from influenza every year, according to the CDC.

Should we be wearing wrist bands or something? Maybe sponsor a 10K "Find the Cure" mini-marathon event? Will we win this one for Harry? My God! How many more must sneeze before someone does something?!? What have we become? What kind of country is this that would let a man go to bed congested every night for a week? This is not the America that I grew up in.

Someone should fashion a phlegm flu ribbon.

He stated MOST which is true, the 36000 is sad but a small percentage of the total that gets the flu and I wonder how many had other ailments that contributed like COPD or heart problems?
