Did anyone caught the premiere of The Vampire Diaries on The CW last night? It's a little bit more Twilight than True Blood.
It was pretty good.

I've been watching it because it was about vampire and I'm always ready to give a horror / sci fi show a chance but I really wasn't sold on the show until the last two episodes which were very dark and very good.
I've never seen Twilight or read the books but I understand there is a lot of similarities. One thing I've learned though that people should be aware of is that the books the Vampire Diaries are based off of came out FIFTEEN YEARS BEFORE Stephanie Meyer wroter Twilight. I've read that if anyone should upset about being ripped off it should be the author of the VD. Obviously the CW is cashing in on the Twilight craze but VD shouldn't be written off as a copy since it came first.
