View Full Version : How Can We Discuss Gay Rights Without It Being 'Sexual'?

I had a thread deleted by gdoane this morning because it was about homophilia in the Republican Party leadership. Nowhere in the post did I discuss anything other than the organized political movement of the gay community; no porn or whatever.
Did I need to post it in a different forum, avoid some term, or what?
How can I ask about homophilia in the Republican Party leadership without gdoane considering it to be porn?
Aside from that, it seems odd that I have seen a great many threads on various issues related to the gay community that were never deleted. So apparently there is a way to discuss it in the Washington Politics forum without gddoane considering it to be pornoigraphic.
What are those guidelines?

Does somebody need to look in a dictionary or does he know something I don't know?

Communists, socialists and civil rights activists could all be considered homophiles - in Greek, homo meaning "same" or "equal", philo meaning "love".
Ironic that homophile could also be used to describe traditional conservatives - "same" referring to tradition and the status quo in this sense, and not other people

My question was to the mods.
Are any of you mods?
If so then I will explain the meaning of words.
I thought the mods were telling people to not use the mod forum for trivial banter like the comments so far.

Any mods that can answer the question?
I dont mean to confuse anybody here.
Maybe I can rephrase the question or something?

Everyone?
Were any of these 'everyones' a mod?
I must have missed it.
'Everyone' else is irrelevant.

"How can we discuss gay rights..."
Well, first, you have to invent them.
