Found a website that is dedicated to documenting the genius of those who's budget may be limited, but their imagination is not.

The This Old House website has a huge section on do-it-yourself "issues" - some of it is actually scary.

It never ceases to amaze me what people will do to 'fix' a issue. The card board tail light for instance...now that's priceless! lol

Good giggle to start my Friday morning off with...lol

If you were to crawl under my truck, you will find a tin can and two hose clamps holding my exhaust pipe to the muffler. ;)

Back in the day my brother used the metal snuff cans as bearings when he was rebuilding straight eight engines. He also used bailing wire to hold the tie rods on his car.

I once used a short length of a finishing nail as a needle bearing in a U-joint on my 70 Camaro. ;)

But that doesn't really count cause you couldn't see it once I put the joint back together. So on the same car I cut open coffee cans and tied them with bailing wire around my rusted out muffler. It worked so well that the kid I sold the car to fixed all the body damage and repainted the car, but left the exhaust system "as is." ;)
