I started working recently, after 6 months of unemployment, for a company that supplies Nursing homes, both medical as well as food supply, as well as other services.

I was given some data recently and I am trying to see what benefit there would be for us, in looking at medical supplies that we sent to clients, that is to say, by looking at usage, how does this help in the areas of saving money, time, customer care, etc. Then we could report to the client on areas where they could be more efficient.

I was wondering if you get involved in this type of data analysis in your work, or if you could refer me to someone who does. I understand for example that there are certain items in the medical area that Medicare does not pay for them over a certain threshhold per patient, or facility. I would love to hear about those kinds of examples that are in use in the real world so that we can use the data that we have. Perhaps there are similar considerations in the nutrition area as well. This is not related to health care reform per se, but if you have insightful comments on this ultra topical subject feel free to interject.

Any thoughts or insights you have would be fantastic. The data is from Excel so it doesn't display well sorry about that.
Some of the data looks like this:
