Seems like if guys like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and others were intellectually honest, and REALLY trying to stand up for racial justice and standing up against "so called" hate crimes, they would be jumping ugly over this situation...!!

Guess not huh..??

While I would not expect Sharpton or Jackson to speak on this case, it is pretty much a hate crime by all indications. Rod Watson's column on it was very good. It is linked in your article.

How could this story not be seen as racially motivated? Does it matter what party is what color really? This poor kid got the snot beat out of him for dating out of his race. That in and of itself takes on a racially motivated attack.

Ole Jesse and Al are always on about racially motivated anything...so yeah, I can see why many are wondering aloud why they are not there jostling for air time? Why isn't this story receiving the national attention it deserves? Why isn't the ACLU down there raising holy you know what?

The more reverse discrimination attacks happen; the more color/race becomes a two way street in incidents, the more attention it will deserve. Those who 'claim' they want to remove race related issues from our modern day society had better wake up to the fact that there are victims of every color that are perpetrated against by every color. This is no longer Selma 1950's folks...far far from it.

I pray this young man who was the victim of this senseless crime will achieve a full recovery.

it absolutley is race motive, but what would you expect sharpton or jackson to do? the right thing? they dont care about some white kid, not in the least. The funny thing is that Jackson or Sharpton would gain some pretty good praise from alot of people if he did, get a whole lot of camera time too. shocking that they would let race get in the way of their adgenda!

They would get a lot of press if they came out in support of the victim here, but that's not the game Sharpton plays. Jesse has fallen into the background for the most part.
