Look up, and to the left.

She listens better than the kids ever did.

That's why we got her, told the kids we replaced them, just in case they thought of coming back.

I have a fluffy gray lightening streak that flashes up and down the hallway, only briefly pausing for a quick ankle attack before it is gone again, it is rumored to be a male kitty approximately 1 year old by the name of Mouki.

I had a German Shepherd named Wrangler, but he killed himself. Now, I have a frog, a turtle, 5 fish, and 17 sugar gliders. Next June or July, my new Shepherds are coming back from Germany after their year of training. They are 14 weeks old now and one is going to be my new SAR (Search and Rescue- live find) dog and the other is my new protection/decomp dog (Decomp-SAR, but for the deceased). Their names are Liberty and Justice and should weigh in at 135lbs full grown.

Both are direct decendents of my Wrangler (Great grandchildren).

Dwarf rabbit?

We have garage cats, about 14 that are from 1 year of age to 7 years.

So far this year we only had two kittens survive the spring and summer birthing, which makes them kitties number 15 and 16.

They are pests and turn their noses up at the dry food we put out for them, they want table scraps.

I try not to get to familiar with them.

Man I have read some fantastic stories and also some sad ones about the SAR animals.

Spike is a Yellow Lab.
"Pet" - yes.
"Special" - he's the third best dog the world has ever known.
"Little" - not so much. 67 lb. is about right for a dog, but not little.

Yes, I have a very special cat. Her name is Kitty. I know very original right?

However she is special because she saved my life when I had my first heart attack. She sat on the foot of the bed and, I was told, raised enough noise to wake the dead. The EMT guy said I was lucky, another 15 minutes and I would not have made. There was a 95% blockage of my heart.

My wife found her in the parking lot at the grocery store. Kids were running over a paper sack with their bikes. When it moved my wife saw some kittens in the sack and she ran the kids off. Only one kitten was still alive and it was so young its eyes were not open.

My first question was why didn't they want it. My mom said they just didn't have the time to care for it properly and thought the bunny would have it better at our house. "Oh, and she's just a dwarf bunny so she is really tiny and doesn't stink at all!"

Yeah.....that damn bunny is now 20 pounds and stinks to high heaven and does nothing but sit in her cage and chews everything in sight when you let her out.

I hate the bunny. I was duped. I found out afterward that they wanted to get rid of the bunny because she chewed through the laptop cords.

I'll ship you this damn bunny for free. Hell, I'll pay YOU to take this damn bunny.

Jack Russell Terrier that is an absolute fruit cake. Probably the energy level of three pit bulls packed into one little 15 pound dog. Can't use a flash light in her vicinity. If she sees a flash light, she will attack it until you play "chase the light" with her. At night, she insists on crawling UNDER the covers and sleeping down at the foot of the bed. Of course, she is spoiled rotten.

How does a German Shepherd go about killing himself? :eh:

He had extreme separation anxiety and the first time I ever left him home for more than 2 hours by himself (he went with me to work, to the store, doctor's office- everywhere. Wrangler was a certified therapy dog and 2 weeks from being a SAR dog- orange vest= go everywhere), he chewed open a bottle of bleach and drank half of it- not before he ate through 2 doors and a half a wall of sheet rock. When they did the necropsy (animal version of an autopsy), they found a half pound of sheet rock in his stomach and about 5 cups of bleach.

Now, his ashes are spread over the refuge so he can chase buffalo and longhorn all day.

If anyone is wanted a German Shepherd, they are known as much for their separation anxiety as they are hip dysplasia. Very attached dogs.

Only if they chase it as it is coming at them...

When I was a kid we had a German Shepherd that chased motorcycles... and I do mean motorcycles, not the rider. One day she caught one and bit the rear tire. It pulled her mouth up into the fender. She never chased another one. ;)

I have an all black cat named Dog. if you ever decide to adopt a cat, you may want to consider a black one; apparently most people don't want them for whatever reasons. When we got Dog, the shelter lady was pretty surprised that we would take a black cat, especially around the fall. They had him in a little cage in a trailer behind the actual shelter which was filled with nothing but black cats in little cages. They didn't even bother to keep them in the main shelter because it was pretty crowded and no one would want the black ones anyway.

ETA: oh, and just in the past few days I have been trying to convince my wife that we want a couple of rats. So far she isn't buying the idea though heh.

Having been owned by Rats for the last 5+ years just know they can be very expensive when taken to the vet. You need to make sure your reg. vet can care for exotics as the illnesses, abscesses, tumors etc. rats get can be a challenged to overcome. They also need to be kept in pairs as they are VERY social animals. Something as little as a cold can kill them quickly. Just be sure to do a lot of research before you buy.

Nice! The smart ones are the ones you have to keep your eyes on. My 'seal' above knows what she's not allowed to do, so she just waits until someone isn't watching her before she does it.

I discovered the fish in my pond this spring, don't know how they got there...but the Koi are about 12 inches long....

I board horses here for retraining and have a mustang here right now that I have been re training. He was really mishandled after adopted through BLM and became rather aggressive towards people. He is doing great now.

Pugs are not the smartest dogs they have a very stubborn attitude and pretty much do what they want. Like stay in his bed all day. Everytime you go near him he rolls over on his back so you can rub his tummy. But he is the absolute love of our life.

Tommy, do you really have a pack o' pits...LOL they are awesome dogs, I have one a black brindle....he is a weenie.....he was rescued in Detroit ( a crack house ) and has some issues.....( very fearful of gunshots, fireworks ) but he is a sweetheart.

My Doberon , on the other hand is a hard ass....very protective but extremely obedient.....she is awesome.

The two together are very intimidating . I live in a rural area yet we are near a major highway, there has been an increase in crimes here as of late, the dogs are really great at alarming at anything out of the norm....makes me feel a bit safer anyway.

So, how many pitbulls do you have ?

Four. Three Chinamen and a run of the mill fawn.

They're not actually mine, they're my roommate's (he's a professional dog trainer).

I would feel bad for anyone who tried to break into my house.
