I believe the government should stay out of peoples marriage even if it is to a person of the same sex?
If I believe we are losing billions upon billions in tax dollars from a losing/phony war on marijuana and prostitution?
If I believe we should allow people to come across our border into America if they plan to work, pay taxes and strive to become Americans just as our ancestors did?
If I believe the government needs to scale back almost all of its controls especially the stranglehold it has put on education and educators?
I believe we are beginning to see what America is like when run by a Monarchy/dictatorship under Obama, but my question is what makes someone conservative and do you have to be the same all the way across the board, cause in the stuff I did not mention above all people consider me a conservative Republican and I always have proudly said I am one and will never say otherwise. Thank you in advance for any insight you can give me on my questions.

If you are looking for a political home, you might google Log Cabin Republicans.

If you don't care about party, welcome to the independents.

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like for the most part, you're a fiscal conservative, not much unlike myself.
Where we differ is terminology like Obama is becoming a monarch/dictator. Not only is it philosophical untrue, reality is showing just how untrue that is.
We need rational dissertation of fiscally responsible positions if we're going to return the country to rational fiscal policy.

Welcome to the forums :)
Sorry, no you can not. You will be considered by most a libertarian/independent.
Oh and be prepared to stand alone..cause both the con's and libs are against you, they both have the "if your not for us, you are against us" Mentallity.

ETA: Until they want your vote, then they are your best friend.

As many do; and I'm sure you not much different; You want your vote to count. Being registered Republican in order to make that vote count works for now. I suppose you could cast a protest vote and actually vote for those items/bills/people you want to vote for regardless their party affiliation..but not one would actually count towards those items/bills/people.

I have to agree with the other honored guest...your closer to a Libertarian Moderate with fiscal conservative views. Nothing wrong with it..heck your in good company. Our numbers are growing in these odd political times. Want your vote to count though? Have to pick a party.

Sorry ....maybe one day it will change? Who knows..crazier things have happened.

Thank you. I have been a registered Republican since i was 18 and have ran for political office in California and people knew i was a Republican. I have always wondered though about how much freedom is too much if we elect libertarians and we see from the left how much of our freedoms they want to take away. This is why I always felt the conservative Republicans were where i fit in. It always reminds me of a story-once my daughter was in 1st grade and another parent came up to me and said i really don't like our kids teacher. I asked why- and the lady said to me she is to strict and too Christian- and i looked at her and said yes but what don't you like about her-the lady was actually mad at me when i said that. My daughter loved this teacher and so did my wife and I, both of us being teachers ourselves we love those qualities in our friends and fellow educators. Thanks for listening everyone
