POWAY, Calif. -- San Diego Chargers star outside linebacker Shawne Merriman was arrested Sunday and accused of choking and restraining his girlfriend, reality TV star Tila Tequila, as she tried to leave his suburban home.
Tequila, 27, signed a citizen's arrest warrant, charging Merriman with battery and false imprisonment, San Diego County Sheriff's Lt. Gary Steadman said.

I heard a quick blurb about the story last night on Fox. Something about the statement Merrian (sp?) made about the incident. She was drunk..is what the statement starts out with...followed by "and he was trying to keep her 'safe".

So we've got drunk girl doing stupid stuff...gee...who would have thunk it...boyfriend try's to way lay the inevitable and keeps her from harm..and now is going to go to court to explain why he didn't let her just go and get herself into trouble? :rolleyes:
