View Full Version : There's No Global Warming

Being born and raised here in the Seattle area, I've become an expert on the area's climate to friends and in-laws from out of state. I tell them I don't really need an air conditioner because the summers here only have six to eight days of extreme heat. Personally, I consider extreme heat to be number of sleepless nights because you're sweating through the bed. Well, I've counted the days over the last two summers and we had six days each. This last summer, there was only four.
Though there are evidence that there is no global warming. This last summer is proof enough for me that there is no global warming. Are there any Al Gore worshipers out there that can explain this cooler summer up here?

They will only say that a micro climate is not an indication of the global average temperatures.

Only 6 days of bed sweating heat this summer????? No, there has been well over a dozen. We've had 10 days alone that hit into the upper 90's, and 4 days that hit the 100+ degree mark. (I'm about 20 miles east of you).
Don't get me wrong, I don't buy into the global warming farce one tiny bit, but it has been one damn hot summer here!

During the day is one thing. A lot of those upper 90s days had reasonably temp. nights if a window is opened.

That's when I'll ask them about another micro climate in the country that may see a cooling trend next summer.

I'm in the foothills, so maybe we just had it a bit hotter here. I'm just glad those days are over! I'm a heat weenie. It's a lot easier to warm up than it is to cool off, IMO. There was about a week there that I was REALLY missing January and all that crazy snow we had!

I hear where you're coming from. Three of these days (nights) came from that week. It's probably an individual temperature tolerance difference. I can personally handle a day up to 85 degrees. Any higher, I'm looking for shade. That one 103 day, the temp. reading in my truck got as high as 111. We headed to the mall to have a very slow back to school shopping trip.

My husband and I actually sat here one night and contemplated sleeping in the car with the A/C running in it all night. Apparently there was a small local cable company out of Tacoma that had a channel that was running a rolling loop of pictures from last winter and all the snow we had - just to make people feel better. :))

Every scale that I have seen has shown approximately 1/2 degree change over the last 80 years. IMHO that is within the margin of error, if you consider the change in measuring technology.
Humanity has produced less atmospheric particulate matter in the entire industrial age than Mt. St. Helens eruption.

My optimum operating temperature is 75-95, but below 80 is when I start getting chilled.
That is why I live on the east side of the cascades.

My optimal operating temp is 85-105. I freeze with anything under 80. The Arizona desert is perfect for me.
