Detectives acknowledge that all the victims have been either white or Hispanic and that the suspects have been black. The attacks have generally happened between 10 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. -- a time when people leave bars and sporting events in LoDo.

One man told CBS4 that he was a victim of one of the attacks. He said he heard a female voice saying "Get that white boy" numerous times. He said he was beaten and his wallet taken.

Atlanta's Buckhead area is in a very wealthy part of town. Where the "old money" lives. There's always been a very high-class, nice entertainment compound in this area. For years it was populated by well behaved, well-heeled, adults who knew how to go out for dinner, drinks and dancing and they didn't need to bring a gun.

The people with guns were in downtown--at Underground Atlanta. But when Atlanta City Council changed the hours drinking establishments in Underground could be open, the "crews" moved "the party" to Buckhead. Within weeks it was a rolling hip-hop party, with open shootings nightly--weekends would bring multiple shootings. This went on for months until all those nice, well-behaved, well-heeled, moneyed folks found other places to dine, dance and drink.

With the nice people gone, their money gone and only the hoodlums for "customers", the wine bars, night clubs and supper clubs closed. Like dominoes. Bam, bam, bam.

Buckhead was destroyed. And I predict same will happen to your Lodo. Sucks.

Be safe and stay out of Lodo unless/until the riff raff can be cleared out and enocuraged to move on to another place for target practice.

We still live in the black neighborhood, but that is not likely to be for much longer.

We are looking for a home closer to the new (marjority white NCLB) high school. My 1995 Nissan isn't going to last long driving 68 miles daily just to haul kids to school--nevermind work, groceries, football games, volleyball games, wrestling matches etc.

Ive lived here in Nassau Merrick Valley Stream and here since 86 worked in Hempstead one block from 100 Terrace Ave from 82 -99 till office moved to Melville
I admit I was only in Hempstead during the day but our office never had a problem in all that time.Infact I wish we were still there it was a 9 mile drive compared to almost 25

If you read newsday you cant go a day without reading of the bad areas being in the paper, elmont is in there every other day with some robbery, home invasion, etc. Read the comments on their site, everyone knows with the influx of city people so has crime. Hell, I know that the reason crime has gone down in NYC is b/c some of those people have moved to LI. The stats show that migrating forces with it bring crime. Look at LI, look at the demographics, then look at that in contrast in which the most crime occurs. Its not rocket science stu. It also cant be denied. Call a spade a spade, it doesn't make you any less liberal.
