Opening Day

Tomorrow, September 5th, is opening day for dove season...anyone else pumped?

I know where my food comes from, I have seen slaughterhouses and I "butcher" my own cuts of meat from large pieces, but I always had to turn something off in my head to walk up to a wounded bird that is trying to flop away for it's life and rip it's head off. I mean it is a whole different issue if I am hungry but every trip I have been on has been expensive (business trip) and my belly was full of steak and beer.

I hope you enjoy yourself though. In my extended family it is almost a religious event. I have an aunt and uncle who make their grown children buy deer tags for them so they can harvest like 10 a season. Theirs is literally a lifestyle, all their disposable income goes to either the lease, the trailer for the lease, the jeep for the lease, a new feeder, a new gun, beer, beer, beer, food, beer, and a new gun.
