The national flag of the People's Republic of China (PRC) will be hoisted at the South Lawn of the White House in Washington on September 20, media reported Sunday.
Chinese associations in the United States had applied to hold a ceremony in front of the US President’s residence to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of PRC.
Chen Ronghua, chairman of Fujian Association of the United States, told reporters that their application was approved not only because of the sound Sino-US relations but also because China is a responsible country.100,000,000 dead and counting.

Jeesh. We have whored ourselves out to China for the past 40 years in the name of cheap goods and labor. Obama is only one in a long line of US leaders who long ago sold out our manufacturing base.

It is not a dirty secret I talked about a number of times how the Clinton did a lot to increase trade with China which helped to grow Walmart. So pointing to Walmarts success was not a Republican success story but rather Clintons

Will the Chinese flag actually be raised on White House grounds, or just in front of the White House on public property?
The article seems to suggest the latter.
If it's on White House grounds, another nail in the coffin of the Obama administration come Nov., 2012.
This part of the article actually made me snicker:
"Many Americans admire China due to the success of last year’s Beijing Olympics,"

Yea that's why I don't trust the source. Anything news-like coming out from China is likely to be heavily censored or even propaganda.

So?
Allowing those people to have their meaningless little ceremony is not any worse to me than having what appear to be American Service members at attention on the steps of the White House actually holding the communist flag.

I'm kinda hawkish when it comes to China but I have nothing against the WH flying their flag. We are not at war with them. They are not Nazi Germany and the current crop of leaders is the better of the two currently viable wings of the CCP.
I am not sure that "celebrating the founding of the PRC" is a good idea, in fact I think it is a rotten idea. But there are a dozen (other) reasons why flying the Chinese flag at the WH might be a good idea.

jproffitt10: "According to the U.S. Flag Code, "No person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above, or in position of superior prominence or honor to, or IN PLACE OF, the flag of the United States at any place within the United States or an territory or possession thereof.""

I don't have a problem with flying another nations flag as long as the American flag is flown also and with the respect that it deserves.

No Doubt ... it is the face of the NEW REPUBLIC ... since we think its fine to burn our AMERICAN Flag ... Stomp on it ... and basically turn our heads when we hear our National Anthem ... Our own President, thinks placing his hand over his heart is beneath him ...
Sure ... Why Not ...
Nobody seems to care anyway ... just as long as the government gives them Hope and Change! [/sarcasm]

Oh but there is so much more that can be done to take your money and not make this hollow assurance an actual lie.... but where to start; Well there is always; A. a means tax ( a % of means collected annually. Florida does this to their wealthier citizens!) B. Cap and trade/tax. C. Ramped up FET 9federal excise taxes) on all sorts of stuff, like gas, tires, phone bills, power bills, etc. D. Tolls ........ still no lie!
Wake up America! This tax the rich (only) is so hollow. If you kill the rich and take their everything, it won't be 10% of what's needed to meet this administration's spending rate, without the interest of compounded debt included (which is unrealistic, of course). God Bless America: The way we voted last time, we sure didn't bless ourselves.

Honoring Communists?
He already has LOLOL he apparently has appointed 4 of them as "Advisers" like Van Jones........Like president Obama said in so many words, you want to know my views etc look at those I surround myself with.......Hmmmmmm, gee, I wonder what that means?
At this rate America,:boohoo: adios freedom, and hello oppression and control like you would not believe. You know, the stuff we were taught in school years ago about the people in those bad communist countries being controlled, monitored, and imprisoned. On the present track in the new " Obama's America of Change", countries like China,Cuba,North Korea may have more freedoms than we do now!
We cannot let them get away with this conversion from freedom to oppression.
That's my 2¢
