Congrats!!!

Thanks!!!

It's both the most stressful and the happiest thing in my life right now LOL!

I had a fitting last night and it was the first time I've had MY dress on. The seamstress was like "So are you nervous?" and I was like "I wasn't until I put the dress on!!!"

My life is good thing....?

No great shakes to report here. Been hit really hard by financial downturn. Essentially starting over from scratch--in the process of moving. Sorting through 12 years of belongings, keep, trash, give away. Long, hard work..

Kids, dogs, cat, hamster and I are still together. As long as we have that, we'll be OK and life is good. :D

When I win the mega-millions Lottery tonight, it will make this transition a whole lot easier! ;)

BC - congrats on the wedding! Make sure there are lots of pics, I was so nervous, all I remember from the ceremony was a buzzing in my ears! And may you have a litter of rugrats, all healthy and happy!

I've been married 10 years now, best move I ever made!

For the last almost year I have been trying to come to Terms with the Passing of my Parents last November...

I have been Realizing that my Life is Good because I was Blessed to have them for as long as I did.

Today my Pa would've been 85...

We took him to the Olive Garden last year on his 84th...

It's like yesterday.

They both Taught me a lot by Example, and my Life is Good because of that.

Strength from my Dad and Compasion from my Mom.

Thanks guys!

My life is SO good right now! I have met Karma and I know her name!!!

My hubby's ex, who has done anything and everything possible to keep his kids away from him has been forced, by the economy, to move to our area! Less than 30 minutes away from hubby!

I think I might have to go to church and praise god because after all the crap that woman has pulled over the last many years, I still just don't believe it!

My hubby is going to be able to see his son's football games and not get home at 1AM after watching.

How can I not be joyfull?!!!!

This is kind of long and round about:

I had my bridal shower yesterday. We were supposed to have a "high tea" at a local hotel. When my maid of honor called two weeks ago to give them a heads up about our large party, giving them an estimate of 10 or so people, they said "No problem! Just call us to let us know if the number changes". Well, by 11pm Saturday night, our number was up to 18. When she called Sunday morning to give them the new number, they told her that for a party that large, we'd have to "reserve" a room, to the tune of $75.

So after 2 hours on the phone arguing with the manager, pointing out that we were NEVER told that we would have to rent a room for more than X number of people, we decided to ditch the tea party. Chaos then ensued as we tried to scramble to tell everyone that we were going to go to the Cheesecake Factory instead. Thankfully, I only had to make about 2 phone calls and the "grapevine" took care of the rest!

We ended up having a GREAT time at CF! Great food, good friends, and presents ;)

But then I got home. Well, not home, I got to my fiance's aunt's house (we stay with her on the weekends to help her out; she's 93!) and he has a fever of 103.4. I eventually convinced him to go to the hospital while I stayed with his aunt until his brother was able to come over. Hospital gave him some Ibuprofen and fluids and he felt tons better. We got home around 10:30 finally got into bed around midnight. H

He and his aunt were both up at 2:30. She got lost in her bedroom (don't ask) and he was shaking like a leaf with chills. Then his aunt was up again at about quarter 'til 5, screaming about not having any toilet paper.

She was still in bed!! Crazy night.

So I told you all this to tell you why my life is good today:

My man is feeling better. Not 100% but the fever is down
My bridal shower ROCKED!
I have the greatest friends ever. Not only did they help get the word out about the last minute change of venue, not a single one of them complained.
I get to sleep in tomorrow and help a charity!
Sorry this was so long and ranting but I had to go through all that to get to the good parts!

Yes, I know. it's just hard to remember this sometimes.

If I didn't have bad luck, sometimes I think I'd have none at all.

*sigh*

Today is a day I'm having trouble remembering the good stuff. All I feel is incredibly overwhelmed and sad. And frightened about what the future might bring. Scary stuff.

But....we're alive and together, and somehow we'll make it.

Mal, believe it or not he will be kicking your ass. Before you know it your boy will be 6'2" and eating you out of house and home, and when he's not eating, he'll be sleeping--and growing yet more. You won't be able to keep clothes on him where the sleeves don't hit him at the elbows and the hem on his jeans (from the men's dept) at the knees (we're at this stage right now).

Oh---and while he's doing this, he'll be moving from the electric razor he got for Christmas in middle school to trim up his shaggy looking new mustache to a real razor and shave cream, because his beard is as heavy as his dad's (at 14.5).

His Dad and I recently worked out a shared custody arrangement with the twins (shock, horror, can you believe that??), and I'm telling you he can kick his Dad's arse.....

Dad is almost 50, an out of shape smoker, former football player--6'4", 240. He had a full ride in college playing offensive guard and was drafted (forget which round) to the NFL after senior yr (except he blew out his knee the last game of Senior year and never rehabbed--so he ended up a techman fixing computers. Dayam, my child support would have been much better on an NFL salary ;) ).

And now his 14.5 year old son can take him down in 2 wrestling moves. God I love watching these two try to kill each other. ;)

Yeah.....Life is Good (even if I forget it on a daily basis lately).

Evenin'/mornin Mal. I'd like to share a little update: We just pulled back into the driveway a bit ago from my son's wedding. It was an awesome event in which I was humbled and honored to be his best man. They make an excellent couple, and the event went off without a hitch. We even got to spend some quality time with the grandbaby. Next is planning that trip north so my granddaughter can finally meet my grandmother. Yes sir, life is good!

Life is also good ... because my ex-husband has been an absolute hero during our current family crisis. He's been at my beck and call to help with the kids. Picking them up, taking them for an evening or weekend whenever they need to get away from the stress of life here....and he's been paying his child support on time, in full and then some. What a HUGE change.

Yes, and life is good because our kids are happy. Happy they have BOTH of us and happy that we've managed somehow to work out a decent workable parenting partnership. They're thrilled that Mom and Dad have ended "The War".

Life is good.

Sweet!!

Know what you mean Mal, my granddaughter will be turning 3 at the end of December. Damn, it's hard to believe my son is at that age much less that I have a grandbaby.
