actually I dont have a problem with that...in fact only constiuents should be allowed in any town hall for specific politicans...this would eliminate garbage that drowns out real people's concerns...gets rid of union thugs and acorns from them as well.

"in fact only constiuents should be allowed in any town hall for specific politicans"

When a politician in Missouri votes yes on a bill that affects a person in Texas, constituent or not that Texan should be able to ask a question.

Congressman demands to see constituents id but votes down checks to make sure those applying for public option are who they say they are.
It only makes sense to some in Congress and their mules.

Gee I wonder if he I.D.ed everyone or.... just the guy with the critical question? Hmmmm.

D-VA

I think we all know the answer.

What I am saying is people should be ID'd before they even get in, not as they are asking questions....I know I would not want some Union thug or acron dope taking up my valuable time when I could be asking my rep a question.

I'd pull my ID out and ask the guy if he honestly thinks we should have ID to question politicians but not to vote for them in national elections?

So then the I.D. should contain that information as well? Whether one is a union thug or nutjob etc.?
I think I understand your point, and I am sympathetic to it, but, it just doesn't seem to fix the problem.

I know what you are saying. :)

It is clear the D-VA did not do this... and turned what he thought might be a video victory for him into a total video defeat... for him and BHO.

D-VA rolled the dice and lost... BIG time.

I believe we are on the same page, as I am against HR3200 or any other type of "public option" healthcare plan....I have attended 3 town halls in NJ...and I appreciate people who emphatically express their opinion on the subject so as long as it is kep non-violent.

Requiring ID to go to a citizen town hall = Good.

Requiring ID to allow a citizen to vote = Bad.

this is happening at alot of town halls!

R and D (when the cowards have them)

the R's are trying to keep ACORN and SEIU thugs out

and the D's are facing constituents flooding in from other districts whos congressman is in hiding, and they want to make sure they have the "proper mix" of constituents..

the R's actually want to hear from their constituents and want to get THEIR VOTERS in the room, not an ACORN rent a mob.

both doing it different reasons

Congress critters who are against ID for elections have no business requiring them for town halls.

Could it be that the Congressman is ... a BIRTHER?!?

(You know, the sort that actually wants to see proof that someone is who they claim to be and who is unwilling to take anyone's word for it.)

if its LEGAL, for them to check ID's to SEE and TALK to a congressman, you should have to show an ID to vote for a congressman.

come on, i know we have lawyers on the forum!

If its come to checking ID's nowdays on the part of the DNC....then all the more reason for Obama to come up with ALL his ID's...lincluding his birth certificate.,..and proof of what Visa he travelled the world on back in his college years.

Then you should look again. The man was singled out because he disagreed with the politician.

That's a fine idea - and before their IDs are checked they should be asked whether they are there in support or opposition to the politician's platform.

THAT would make better reporting...

Where do you think the greater need for accurate identification lies?
A. When asking a question in a town hall meeting
B. When running the country

Last I checked, the constitution didn't have any stipulations on who could ask a question in a town hall meeting.

Last I checked the constitution didn't require rightfully elected presidents to prove they belong in the country, but that's not stopping a bunch of congressmen from trying to pass a law.

I don't want to break any forum rules, though, and discuss this outside the BC thread, so I won't comment more in this here. Happy to take this discussion to the BC thread.

Now if this was a Republican demanding ID like this at a town hall meeting, the democrats, unions, ACORN and the MSM would come unglued 24/7.
