I watched the show today .He came out swinging with his talking points and blackboard nonsense. He then went into the OReiley
"All I am saying must be true because The White House doesnt contact the show to tell me I am wrong" defense ..............as if the world revolves around Becks show

Then the blaming Obama for advertisers leaving his show SHTICK
whining ( almiost to tears)about how they are trying to shut him down.He then tries to claim God will let the truth come out as if God is in Becks corner

Then as usual he has on a guest and they tell each other how smart they are .

He's using the LIBERAL definition:

Talking Point
Any word, or combination of words, that exposes Obama and his cohorts for the lying, marxist weasels that they are.

I didn't remember him saying the White House wasn't correcting him. I thought he said the media wasn't correcting him. I assume he meant those that should be reporting what he is reporting.

I could be wrong, but that is how I remember it.

Glen Beck is well..Glen Beck. Bill O'Reilly is well...Bill O'Reilly. There is little to draw a line between the two other then, they both report/have shows on Fox news...and ..both have a bombastic style of reporting. Other then that...each is his own man.

If Glen Becks show causes delirium type states for you...then don't watch him. You have that power..and you alone.

....and...the question still stands...Has Beck said something that isn't true on his show? Has O'Reilly? I can think of a few times I've disagreed with a opinion either of the men have shared...but as to the root of a story..the facts presented..I've yet to hear a twisting or spin yet on either show.

Just saying....

Considering that tirade (Stu's) I would venture to guess that Stu is completely wrapped up in his own little fantasy world... a world where style rules and truth and facts don't matter.

Style huh? Hmmmm...didn't think style mattered (or should matter) when it came to relaying a story or telling the truth. Guess I'm just getting older. :eh:

I've so little energy to spare anymore that the Keith Olberman's, O'Reilly's, Becks of the world do little to even put a blip on my radar. There are bigger issues to fry ..as it where. :shhh:

Hmmmm....thinking about that statement...presenting opinions as facts. They both present their opinions bombastically...but I have never heard either reporter spin opinion as 'facts'....soooooo
....nope...sorry...Bill, Glen..both state when something is a opinion...and when something is fact. They both even state the source of stated 'fact' and give verifiable information on where those facts where gleaned from. They both clearly state when they are sharing an opinion.

Defending one's opinion is nothing new. Hell, Keith Olberman and Racheal Maddow do it every damn day on their shows...it's their 'style' I guess?

Don't like Glenn? Don't watch him. Fairly simple.

I will repeat CWW's question Stu: Has Glen Beck said something on his show that isn’t true?

And I will add: If so, what specifically?

You can bluster about Beck's style all you want, but until you come up with a specific error in what he said, all you have is empty rhetoric.

He says he knows what other people really mean even though they havent said it and uses that against the other person.I saw him do it last night with his guest ... I admit I do not remember the specifics but it was taken from someone elses speech and Beck decided what the guy meant even though it wasnt what he said.

Are are you really asking Freemind to find something Beck said on OReileys show that wasnt true?

So you did... sorry. The "went into the O'Reilly" (whatever that means) threw me off since Beck was also a guest on The Factor yesterday.

However, the link freemind provided was to something Beck said on July 22, not on August 26... the day you said in your OP that you listened to his show... the day that Beck inspired your tirade.

So I repeat the original question within the proper context... for either you or feemind... What did he say on his August 26th show that was untrue?

mysticbeauty_nbeast
August 28th, 2009, 2:13 pm
I watched the actual show on Glenn Beck on the topic FreeMind sighted in his article. The article itself says exactly what Glenn Beck did...Proof's in the pudding huh?

Glenn brought up all the points the article did...and did state that the man stopped just shy of stating why we couldn't implement those practices..and for the very reason the article state we shouldn't or couldn't implement them. The article either didn't take into consideration the actual show related to the topic...or didn't care too. Just more Beck bashers. But hey...that's there whole shtick right?

Again...Beck is bombastic in his style. He states facts of a story..then give opinions on those facts and the 'may go this way' or 'could lead to this' type discussions. yeah...and...so?

Much ado about nothing. Boooosshhh isn't around to bang on ..so we now have Beck and O'Reilly bashers. Sad...truly sad. Go find a hobby...do ya some good to get outside and get fresh air in those lungs guys.

A wee bit? How about allot a bit? lol

Beck playing the victim? Hmmmm. Gotta think on that one. His style is verbose...so you can't be referring to that. His style of opinion is bombastic...which seems to be the trend in most news type shows these days, right or left colored...so you can't be referring to that either. So exactly what is it about Beck that you think is victimish..or Beck playing victim?

I've watched him a few times...he's unconventional..as many of his counterparts are...but that doesn't make them all victims.

He presents facts and then tell his audience what those facts mean(in his opinionof course) He will rarely have on a guest to counter those opinions only people that agree with him .I saw the video of the Acorn guy where Beck kicked him off the show during the commercials because he said the guy said that HE (Beck) hated coolored people

Our news should make us think. I don't want my facts watered down by PC-ism. I simply want facts to make up my own mind on what is what. That is how it should be...right?

He presents facts and then tell his audience what those facts mean(in his opinionof course) He will rarely have on a guest to counter those opinions only people that agree with him .I saw the video of the Acorn guy where Beck kicked him off the show during the commercials because he said the guy said that HE (Beck) hated coolored people
Ironically Beck went on Fox and Friends and said Obama hated White Folks which led to the sponsers withdrawing their ads from his show

I remember the show your referring too. Some big mucky muck from Acorn..who couldn't give a straight answer to save his life. Beck has people on who disagree with him...just as O'Reilly does. Does it all the time. Lately however, due to the Glenn derangement syndrome...Beck has choose to expose what the public rarely hears about within the industry itself...pressure. Anyone who takes away or challenged the messages that come out of the Obama white house is an enemy...and Beck now knows exactly what that feels like. K...so? That he openly talks about his experience makes him a victim?

Also..one small correction...Beck made the statement that Obama is a racist. it was on Fox and Friends two weeks ago now. He was immediately countered by co-hosts on Fox and Friends as to why they thought his statement was wrong. yeah...k? so?

Your missing the larger picture Stu. There are enough talking heads out there that no one talking head is being solely listened to and followed by any large group populace. The Becks and O'Reilly's are being listened too more and more as they give the story first...state the facts...then state their opinion on it...then state..."You decide". Hmmmm...mighty big of them to tell us to think for ourselves right?

Still waiting...how is Beck a victim/playing a victim?

When was the last time Beck presented an opposing viewpoint on his show?
BDS? (Beck not Bush:)) Then He should have on opposing viewpoints so he can calmly and rationally debate them
The White House is not beholden to Beck to answer all of his accusations and/or theories
On F&F He said Obama has a deep hatred for White people so the guy called him on it and he answered by denying he said it

Your side stepping and dancing... again. How is Beck a victim? What makes him in your opinion a victim? Still waiting.

You keep describing why you don't like him. You don't have too Stu. no one is holding a gun to your head and making you like him much less making you watch him. I get you don't like the guy...K...and here's the but...you've made statements of fact that you have yet to prove out. In fact, you keep proving out what others have rebutted your posts with. Not good m'man..not good.

You don't have to agree with the guy...don't have to validate his opinions...but you've made declarative statements about Beck that you've yet to produce proof of yet. Soooo...still waiting....I fear it's gonna be a long wait. :eh:

*side note* I don't watch Beck every day. I catch him here and there. I'm not really into his style as a commentator. Beck's amusing to watch sometimes...and that's as far as I take it*

IMO He is implying that they are going to shut him(whoever they are) down for voicing his opinion, thus portraying himself the victim of whoever he thinks is going to shut him down. I have seen no effort by anyone whatsoever so shut him up or down

Thank you. That was clear, concise and actually well thought out.

Advertisers...it's what he is speaking too. Pull enough advertising dollars...ie money... off any show and the show can or may be pulled. That's simple economics.

If that happens...which it won't...but if it did; who do you think is to blame if not those who work to get him off the air? Now who those people are who are pulling advertisers off that show...who do you think they support? That doesn't mean Obama himself...I wouldn't' even go that far...but I'm sure you'd agree the far left fringe loonies would love to take Beck down, or take the credit for taking down someone like Beck in the name of the current admin. That's fact Stu....not opinion. It's to that that Beck is speaking to directly..and it's making said far left fringe loonies very nervous. If anyone is playing victim..it's the far left loonies that no one wants to claim. Not even the Obama white house. :shhh::think::shhh:

Dig a bit on Google...you'll see what campaign is currently underway to pull advertisers from Becks Fox show. Fairly easy to find. Happy reading.....

~MystyI dont think there would be anyone is to "Blame" anymore then there is anyone to blame when ANY TV show goes off the air
I know about ColorofChange but I think the bottom line is that advertisers make the Final Decision as to what shows they want to support
They choose to advertise with on Becks show and now for whatever reason they are choosing to exercise their option to withdraw ther sponsorship ,If they choose to stay that is their option as well

Geese Stu... you still going at it? :eh: Man you must hate this guy Beck... what's the problem? Does he owe you money or something? Why should you care at all that he thinks that the FCC Czar is "out to get him" (your words, not Beck's) ? You gave your unsupported opinion... we gave you ours... let it go fella.

BTW...Beck has made it perfectly clear that he does not care if the Government puts him off the air. He cares only that his honor will remain intact regardless of what happens to him. Expressing his opinions... and he does provide evidence to support his opinions, even if some of it is circumstantial... is (in his opinion and in that of a great many other people) a God given right and no man will take that away from him. And he would defend your right to express your opinions just as vigorously... no matter how cockamamie they may be.

Effectively he is telling Lloyd... 'go ahead, take me off the air... I will not be intimidated.'
