He is Indian, a hindu. I know conservatives read his name and immediately make a guess.In their defense, Zakaria was born into a Muslim-Indian family. However, I've never read any statement or summary by him that indicates that he himself is a Muslim.

Regardless, though while I used to idolize the man and now pretty much respectfully disagree with pretty much everything he says, he's incredibly intelligent and the book is definitely worth the read.
