Yikes.
I'm pretty much a 'to each his own' kinda guy, but I've never understood how people can do that to themselves.

I fail to see how these tattoos are any different than every other one I've ever seen.
Of course I think all tattoos are gross...

From what I can tell, it takes a better than average level of skill to duplicate a human face on someone's skin without it looking like a zombie.
Perhaps folks should keep this in mind when they do them.

Here's my take.
Bigogtry is wrong. A person should never be judged by anything outside of their own decisions they make.
A tattoo is a statement. When it was a tag of slavery, it was a title of ownership. Such a tattoo is the only forgiveable kind and only if you were a slave.
Otherwise, it's a statement and a request for judgment. The same as a uniform, really.
I'm prior military. I chose my swevice well, as the U.S Navy has easily the most recognizeable and unique uniform in the world.
I think tattoos are the same thing, except it's a uniform you made yourself like you're an Army of one.
If I recognize the statement made, then thst is not bigotry.

That one of the sixpack abs is hillarious. I can't imagine ever getting it myself, but it's funny as Hell. Also, the one where the guy's fingertip had been cut off and he had a fingernail tattooed on what was left of his finger was brilliant. Most of the rest are graphic reminders of how stupid people can be.

Not Hoosier with a capital H. hoosier with a little h. Big difference. And I know you do not look cheap or hoosier, but quite attractive and sexy. That is what all the girls on the board say, anyway.

On a serious note, I really don't have a problem with tattoos. My brother in law has two full sleeves and several other ones as well.
The thing is, however, his were done by some of the top tattoo artisits in the world. They are all one-of-a-kind designs he did himself and they all hold spiritual meaning for him.
Now, compare that to someone who goes out and gets a Jonas Brothers tattoo on their chest and you can kind of see the difference.

One of my fraternity brothers had 6 of his friends tattooed on his backside. It was pretty epic.
I was considering getting something like this:

or this: Συν ται η επι ται!
Either would bo on my back.

They're both Greek, both associated with Sparta.
The first one was a response to the Persian demand of "Lay down your weapons." It means "Come and take them (if you can.)" One of the most baddass quotes in history, since the Persians outnumbered the Greeks by about 250,000 to 2,000.
The second means "Come back with your shield or on it." Greek warriors carried heavy shields into battle. If they were killed in battle, their comrades would carry their bodies back on their shield. If the soldier was a coward, he would drop his shield and run home in terror.
Both are much cooler than the Twilight logo, lol.

Well I'd imagine your brother in law knows the difference between "well done" and "utter dreck that no one should be supjected to even if they are passed out in an alley, let alone pay for"
jeepers

Very common in older men who served during WWII. Funny, but some of that stuff is MUCH better than the dreck I often see.
Remember the whole 'barbed wire' around the upper arm/neck, thing? Every time I see it, I think that is going to be a bit of an asthetic issue when their skin sags years from now.
If someone wants a tat, more power to them. But also know that OP are going to likely have a reaction to them, and not all of them positive.
As to the photos in the spread, what kind of brain thinks of having PacMan on his arse as a good idea? Or covering your entire face? A brain on your head?
Wait, don't answer that.

This is true... Considering how gay (literally) the ancient Greeks were, I should rethink this.
My grandfather has an eagle tattooed on his arm, he got it while he was in the Navy--it's regulation for sailors to get ink, apparently. It's just there. It doesn't define who he his.

Let me qualify this. I am a sailor-man, I have sailed on five of the seven seas and I qualified ESWS, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. I could fire any weapon, use any system, and do any job it takes to run a U.S. Navy Man O' War.
The ESWS designation is walking the walk. It means you are stone cold serious about being a warrior.
I've earned decorations, ribbons, medals, and ranks in the United States Military.
Never did I see the honor in a tattoo. The ranks and medals I've worn, I've earned those. A tattoo is self-awarded and worthless. It is a mark without honor.
You claim to have more nerve? Your proof is that you have a marking with no honor?
Few things are more dishonorable than a fake badge. Tattoos were never cool. Self-inflicted awards are worthless at best.

LOL Thaaaaaaaaaaaank you!
Especially since my dad wanted things like a road runner on his butt. Hardly a "badge" of honor for a sailor. And I have a butterfly. A freaking butterfly. It's PRETTY, it doesn't really mean anything other than having some very personal meaning to me.

Let me qualify something.
I have more respect for the US military than I can express. To those who have fought and do fight, goes the honor.
I did NOT mean to cheapen the US Navy, nor to indicate that I have some sort of special courage just because I got jabbed with a needle a couple of times.
You don't know me, you don't know how I treat the militray men that I know. So back off.
