It will end in 2012. Unfortunately, not before then.

obama wants to control it - he appoints a czar.

Simple as that.

Has Obama chosen the new Czar yet?

Perhaps he should chose John Le Carre'. He's a former spy turned socialist author.

Le Carre's combined experience with espionage, socialism, and fiction makes him a perfect candidate to work in the Obama administration.

I wished it would not have even started ..
But unfortunately this is only the beginning.

I do not understand how people can blindly follow (or vote for that matter) someone (or more of them) they don't know nothing about.

So now Obama has his own interrogation team. I bet people caught speaking out against Obamacare get much worse treatment than terrorists.

WHY is this being allowed?

where is the outcry from our elected officials?

The only governments who micromanage are dictatorships, we are not a dictatorship so where is the outrage!!!

An interdepartmental specialized interrogation unit as recommended by a special task force that reviewed interrogation policies? This should be a good thing national security wise.

Uh, its only FOR terrorists:

It would be called the High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group. According to the task force's recommendations, it would coordinate the deployment of teams of experienced interrogators, analysts and linguists to conduct the interrogations of high-value terrorists.

At least not until the CIA is effectively neutered and made irrelevant. China and Russia must be loving this. Obama was right about one thing --- our relationship with these countries will change.

I was all for giving Obama the benefit of the doubt, even though I didn't vote for him. But this vengeance/witch-hunt crap against an administration that no longer exists, amid false promises of forgetting the past and moving forward, has done it for me. Yet another bald-faced liar of a politician.

Sounds like the CIA doesn't want to be involved in long-term detentions.

Senior administration officials said the CIA will still be a "key player" and that the unit's agency bosses will make operational decisions -- not the White House.
"The White House is not going to be involved in any of the tactical decisions being made," one official said.
The structure of the new unit the White House is creating would depart significantly from such work under the previous administration, when the CIA had the lead and sometimes exclusive role in questioning Al Qaeda suspects.
One senior U.S. official told FOX News that the CIA did not want to house the new initiative.
"They're glad to be out of the long-term detention business," the official said.

Wow....

Another Power grab by "THE ONE"

You make it sounds like the Bush Administration had nothing to do with the holding and interrogation of high-level suspected terrorists.

It's more of a power reorganization than a power grab, based on the posted article.

Yeah, maybe. Any of those "officials" impartial? I'm still inclined to believe this is a witch-hunt carefully crafted to satisify the spittle-drenched fringe elements of the far left who've been hungering to smear the previous administration, at all costs.

I wonder what sorts of "questionable actions" the CIA employed during its 50+ years of existence prior to Bush? Nevermind, it really doesn't matter.

The people are asleep. their brain does not work. They do not want to see the truth. And if one points to history one will be silenced or called a traitor.
looks like we are already there - at the beginning of dictatorship.

What on earth are you talking about?

It's for interrogating suspected terrorists... you know, something the Bush administration was also involved in? It's just structured differently and more humane.
