Considering the trend. It'll most likely be Miss Venezuela.

This is such a tragic day on television I didn't care for watching anything after what happened on the final night of a two-week Sony Pictures Television mini-series that will be used to promote the eighth season an SPT syndicated programme.

Meanwhile, Ladies and Gentlemen, Please Stand and Remove Your Hats for the playing of the National Anthem:

¡Abajo cadenas!
Gritaba el Señor;
y el pobre en su choza
libertad pidió.
A este santo nombre
tembló de pavor
el vil egoísmo
que otra vez triunfó

Gloria al bravo pueblo
que el yugo lanzó,
la Ley respetando
la virtud y honor.

Gritemos con brío
¡Muera la opresión!
Compatriotas fieles,
la fuerza es la unión;
y desde el empíreo,
el Supremo Autor
un sublime aliento
al pueblo infundió.

Gloria al bravo pueblo
que el yugo lanzó,
la Ley respetando
la virtud y honor.

Unida con lazos
que el cielo formó,
la America toda
existe en nación;
y si el despotismo
levanta la voz
seguid el ejemplo
que Caracas dió.
Gloria al bravo pueblo
que el yugo lanzó,
la Ley respetando
la virtud y honor.

When Sony had to break out the most depressing music for the first time ever in the 11+ years of their big international format anywhere in the world, we know it's a tragedy.

What does Who Wants To Be A Millionaire have to do with Miss Universe? :think:

All I said was that watching the beauty pageant wasn't worth it after the most depressing moment on the air that the pageant became an afterthought. And it hasn't been the same with the current owners, nor has it been the same since the widowed host left the show because of a prize controversy.

Last time I was in Puerto Rico I was talking with a local politician who was Pro-Statehood. He told me that a high percentage of folks are Anti-Statehood simply because they are afraid that they wouldn't be able to field candidates in these pagaents.

That, and also because those who have jobs, don't want to pay United States income tax.
