We have recovered stolen property among the items recovered is a purple heart. Ingraved in the medal is "Charles S Easton, USMC (United States Marine Corp), WWII, Killed In Action 1942". We are attempting to contact a family member who would have kept this and would have reported this and other stolen items from a home burglary.

I have contact information, so if anyone on this forum has the ability to relay this to military forums, etc, and happen to get a positive response from someone of interest, you can pm me here at Hannity and I can relay that contact information for their eyes only through proper channels.

I have permission from my commanding officer to relay this message via necessary channels as its a priority of the VA and NY departments to find the owner of this purple heart and a personal priority of me to help out anyway I can to find the home for this medal.

In doing a google search, I found that his hometown was Carmi, Illinois. Perhaps someone from that region could do a more thorough check.

Thanks, this was sent via Inter City Correspondence from VA, therefore they are looking and hoping all of us can look as well.

I figure this forum has a very active military membership so anyone who can pass this along in some way or form it would help.
